So, what really is the difference? I've had numerous hair stylists over the years tell me that a body wave will not make my hair super curly like a perm, but it always turns out the same: super curly like a perm. Is there some type of perm or body wave that will just give me very loose and large curls?

The tightness of the curl depends on the size of the rod used. The larger the rod the more lose the curl. Yes, it's that simple.

You dont even choose a perm for loose curls. putting curling rollers on your hair after a shampoo whilst its moist and blow drying hair with them in can supply you massive, organic sleek curly locks. Merry Christmas =]

You dont even need a perm for loose curls.

Putting curling rollers in your hair after a shampoo when its wet and blow drying hair with them in can give you big, natural glossy curly locks.
