It depends on the state and county you are in. Some states sell all liquor out of state-run liquor stores, while some allow grocery stores to sell even hard alcohol. Your best bet, assuming you live in a moderate state, would be a grocery store (there are always one or two open on Christmas) or a convenience store like 7-11.

Depends on where you live. If in the U.S. there are many variety stores that carry beer and wine. If you are close to the border this is the only place you will be able to get your beer.

Annette is right. It is up to each state to determine alcohol sales. In addition to that, each city with in that state can regulate sales too, with in the perameters of the state law. So, again, it depends on where you live.
