the comedian from tv? She doesn't even get his jokes, she just sees a guy with funny hair running around, and I think the only reason she laughs is because she sees by friends laughing and copies them (these are my guy friends laughing, not me- I mean, let's face it, the dude is NOT funny). When I tuck her in at night she cries if I tell her she cannot marry Carrot Top, and to be honest, with all the things she sees and does in the course of the day, I can't for the life of me figure out why this one person's silly antics stays in her little mind?!

Help her write a letter to Carrot top (and I agree that guy isnt very funny, but way, way funnier than Emo Phillips). The letter of course will go unanswered, but YOU could send her one from Carrot Top declining her proposal but telling her that he will always lover her or some such..

My son used to seem to be off with the pixies talking a bout magic spells working in such and such a way, writing stories about budgerigars with aggressive personalities and overcoming mad roosters.
I never judged but used to laughingly discuss his fantasies
I did not know it at the time but his fantasies were laying down the future of what he would become. He took out his PhD in aerospace engineering this year.
I am just a poor worker but his education never cost me anything much.
If I had dampened his dreams as a young child I am sure that he never would have become what he has.
I am very proud of his academic prowess BUT
I am even more proud of the fact that he is a very very nice person.
Let the 4 yr old want to marry Carrot Top. She could do worse..........imagine if she had wanted to marry someone like Prince Charles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She is 4 years old and having dreams. Let her have her fantasy, and go along with it. Tell her that if she really wants to marry him when she is all grown up and out of school, that you will help her. That will let her know that she can count on you to help her do what is best for her, and she is to young to know the difference. When she is grown you can remind her of this and have a really good laugh over it. I don't care for him either, but there must be something about him that she likes.

Oh do grow up yourself. She is four for goodness sake. Let her have her fantasy. While you protest, she will insist. So you say that you are in favour of it and that will be pretty much the end of the conversation. She will out grow it. My daughter at four wanted to keep sheep in our garage. At four I remember asking mum if I could have some fairy penguins I saw at the zoo. She asked where I would keep them, and I told her I would like to keep them in the bathroom. Did you never have a desire that was unreasonable?

It is so cute. Let her be little and just enjoy it.

Cheers

Lisa

I think that you are acting too hasty.

Though it is improbable that she will be able to marry Carrot Top, it isn't impossible.

He is a rich guy. Rich guys often date & marry much younger women.

So, she might get her wish when she reaches a legal age.

But, realistically, she won't even give a rat's *ss about Carrot Top in 4 years.

Forget about it. Your about as irrationally obsessed about this as your sister is.

Say you agree under one condition, e.g.( and may choose whatever you like, similar), things have to wait till she is in 3rd class, to make sure that she can cook( or whatever) for him.
The point is for her to know that you agree( or at least that you will consider it seriously), so she will not cry and has negative feelings for now, but things must be postponed till she is older enough. AT THAT TIME you will not have to convince her.
