I've been looking at these too on Amazon US. I'm not sure exactly which models you are asking about since I don't really understand the value of eruos or pounds.
However, I'm satisfied that should I purchase one I'll get the largest professional model that I can afford so that my options are not limited if I should want to add options down the road such as the sausage stuffer.
I'm staying away from the tilt head models.
I also own a Kitchen Aid portable hand mixer and a food processor with the mini bowl. I'm very pleased with both appliances.
The hand mixer is the best one I've ever owned. And It's so good that it's the reason I've put off buying the big stand mixer. It did a great job on all my Christmas cookie dough and my cake batters have been perfect.
The food processor sits on my counter. I use it at least four times a week. It makes quick work of pie crusts and biscuit dough as well as slicing, chopping and shredding.
Oh dear, I'm not so sure I've helped you at all. But your question has certainly got me thinking again about whether or not I really need this big machine. LOL!
Visit www.recipezaar.com. Go to the kitchen gadgets forum and ask about Kitchen Aid Stand mixers. The cooks there will tell you more about them than you ever wanted to know.

The wattage of the motors. I have the Artisan and it works great....unless you are a professional baker or make lots of heavy batters that require long mixing time you should be fine with the Classic. Check the wattage though...if the Classic is basically the same wattage as a hand held mixer you may want to get something with a little more power so the motor doesn't burn out on you.

The artisan has a stronger motor, and I think the bowl might be bigger, not sure.
The classic is an older model.
Google them and watch the number of watts, the bowl capacity, and whether it has a tilt head (the style I would prefer).
I SO badly want one of these, so I've been looking for deals too. One of our stores online had a sale for the Ultra 4.5qt 300W, for 150 CDN in blue or green, but they sold out fast!
In Canada, regular price for the artisan is close to 400CDN, with the older models going on sale for about 250CDN if they can be found!
Good luck on your hunt!

Bigger motors. Larger bowl capacity. One has an arm that tilts the other has one that goes up and down to remove the bowl. You might want to Google it. My mom and I just bought one for my brother and sister-in-law for Christmas, but i forgot which one I picked up!
