Has anyone ever taken a D390 to bits ?
I just bought a 2nd hand one for my 7year old's christmas present;.... BUT the battery's only last for about 5 shots.... I've tried fully charged Ni cd and a brand new set of Duracell AA...After about 5 minutes the battrey check starts flashing red. so I assume there's a short circuit somewher.
As I 'cant take it back' and she's gonna be real p**** off if it doesn't work... i only have one soulution...thats is to take it to bit's to see if there's any thing obvious.
Has anyone had the same sort of problem ? And if so how do I fix it? thanks in advance D

I have noticed that ordinary batteries, Alkaline or Ni_Cads do not last in digital cameras at all, try using NM-Hi batteries or Lithium

You will find the LCD will consume most of the power, but you can also turn the resolution down of the pics your taking, i use two sets of rechargeable batteries, so i just keep one set on charge until they get low then change them over, if it was shorting the camera would not work at all.

Don't even bother just sell on ebay stating whats wrong and learn not to buy second hand when it comes to electricals.Tell your seven year old what was wrong and promise them something in the new year if they moan tell them to be grateful.

Contact a local camera shop and ask how much it would cost to fix it.
