I prayed once, while I was in the army, for God to show me my sin, because I thought I was a pretty decent person. I thought also that I had never hurt anyone. In that moment, and starting from the time I was a child, working his way to that day, he showed me things I had done to hurt people with my words many times and other things I had done.
He showed me so much that I felt nauseated with grief and I began to cry. (He answered my prayer) Then he showed me Jesus Crucified and I knew it was for me personally, So I prayed again and asked God to forgive me. As the words were leaving my mouth, a feeling of freedom and a great sense of joy and happiness came over me and my tears turned to laughter. (He answered my prayer)
I might add, until then, I had been an atheist. I too thought “Jesus Freaks” were just weird, foolish people.
For the past 30 + years he has answered so many prayers, in obvious ways, I would not be able to count them. I am not, nor have I ever, been living in the best of physical conditions, but Gods presence in my life is always more than enough.

God has helped me in many ways and many times in my life. I love God above all things in Heaven and on Earth.
Sometimes God speaks to me through thought and prayer and sometimes God answers my needs in the most unexpected ways.
Through God I have met many people who have been able to help me and whom I have helped. We are total strangers until our paths cross and God uses one of us to help the other when we least expect it but is needed the most.
God has also used me as an instrument for healing - and yes the healing that God provided was instant. God is alive and well and still performing miracles through those who allow God to use them for His purpose.
Above all, God is Love. God loves us so much that He gave us His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting Life.

God helps me daily, and answers my prayers. There are far too many examples to write them all. There are the more subjective ones, such as the peace, courage, strength, forgiveness, and other blessings God instills in my life when I am walking with Him and praying for these things.
Then there are examples where I could plainly see God's answer to my prayer.
We went fishing with my inlaws, and nobody was catching anything. I prayed to God to please let my young daughter catch a fish, it would mean so much to her, and not 30 seconds later she pulled one out. It was the only one caught all day.
We used to constantly have charities calling wanting our used clothes and household items, but when I cleaned out my closets several months ago, nobody called us for months. So I had all these bags piled in the corner for months, and I finally prayed to God for someone to call, and they called that very day.
I have a medical condition where people are always helping me but I'm rarely in a position to help others, It makes me feel bad sometimes. So one day when I got an email from a friend and about all she was up to, was doing things for others, I prayed to God that I would have an opportunity to help somebody else. The next day I met a woman who had her grandkids staying with her so she ran out of food a few days before she was to get her food stamps, and I bought her groceries to tide them over.
One more: after we had our first child, we were unable to get pregnant again. I prayed to God fervently for two years, and His answer was "NO." I finally accepted that He knew what was best for me. Soon after that, I developed a disabling medical condition, (no, it does not affect fertility) and it became obvious that I would have had a hard time mothering two children. God answers us in life, but the answer is not always "Yes."

You can take your baby home and watch it die, was what the hospital said. My baby didn't die. My baby is a strong healthy wonderful young adult today.
I'm glad prayer works.
There's alot of other ways God has helped or answered me in my life, but it would be too long a list. I am interested to see what others have to say as well.

Many many times,This is the one and only God,Jesus Christ however, I accepted Christ 14 years ago after being atheist for 25 , My life did not work as atheist was angry bitter, womanizer hedonistic lowlife. I moved to Maui HI after a divorce continued my hedonistic ways after divorce about 1 year of living in Maui I found myself depressed angrier than ever,A girl(she was a fox!) started working where I did I found out that she played in a praise and whorship band at a church,I followed her in wanting to meet her, When the music started I heard of the love and grace mercy to come as I was(this was awesome church overlooked ocean went in shorts t-shirt) For the first time I heard about the hole in my heart that w/o Christ in my life I would be angry that through him I could find peace joy for ever, something spoke to me that day I prayed to accept Jesus Christ in my life! No whistles or bells went off.but the next morning when I got up I looked out and it was as if I was looking at Maui for the first time,it was beautiful! When I went to work people asked what had happened my attitude was better I was happier I was not lonely anymore! I went about a year I decided one night to go back down to one of my old drinking spots and have just 1 drink! I ordered the drink, when it came I heard a voice say in an audible voice,YOU DO NOT BELONG HERE! I left the drink where it was I have not been in a bar since that was 14 years ago, He has revealed in that time(as im a doubter by nature) He is real he showed my healing of knee injury(instantanously) showed me possesion of a person shown me love throughout. Turn to him for he cares for you no matter what you have done he loves you and would like you to come to a understanding and belief of what he said is real. I can say he is!

From copper to gold. Inspired and profoundly changed, transformed, empowered by the writings of Baha'u'llah, Glory of God, I am more intelligent, more knowledgeable, more understanding, wiser, more courageous, audacious, and have done things I would have never done. Humbled to my core, I am without words to convey my gratitude, joy, peace for an insane, challenging, amazing life. I have friends all over planet earth who would say the same.
