Most ties do end in a pregnancy. She will come out of (heat) season in a week or so. You should take her to the vet in about 6 wks for prenatal care. (We see the vet at 6 7 and8 weeks.) She will have puppies in 9 weeks. You need to make sure she is wormed during the pregnancy. If your vet doesn't do it, you do it.

In humans, the period days are a woman's least fertile time. Dogs don't have 'periods' - the swollen vaginal area and bleeding you can see are a sign that your female is in heat and very fertile.
It often takes dogs more than one mating to become pregnant, particularly if the male is too young as yours is, at only a year old, and is too inexperienced to tie properly to complete the mating. However, there's a likelihood of pregnancy whenever your male and female mate. A vet will be able to confirm a pregnancy - make sure your female gets taken to one.
Spay and neuter both your dogs - there are enough mixed-breed puppies in the world as it is without you trying to produce more. If your female is pregnant, you can still have her spayed; she'll be much healthier overall in the long term and you won't have to worry about helping her whelp this litter, or worry about any future 'accidents'.

When a human female is in estrus (having a period) she is not able to become impregnated. It is the opposite for the rest of the animal kingdom. Estrus is a signal to the male of the species that the female dog is roaring and ready to go. Your dog could get pregnant from her first estrus. I am assuming that this is not her first. Another thing. She can be pregnant from both dogs and still go through the rest of her estrus. She can get pregnant from still another dog if she gets with another male. Take her to the vet a couple of weeks after her estrus stops and see what the vet says. If you don't want to go through her birthing and all the little poop piles afterward, you can have her aborted and spade in the same operation. She will forgive you. I would suggest that unless she is a registered purebred that this is what you do. There are so many dogs out there that are not wanted. Don't add to the problem with four, five, six or seven more pups who may just end up being euthanized before even living life.

Yes she could very well be pregnant...why may I ask are you breeding a mix???? Why are you breeding without knowing even the basics of breeding? Why are you breeding just to produce another litter of puppies???? All of this is VERY irrepsonsible!!
Also be aware that Pugs, Puggles, etc have a very high rate of complications during whelping....you are putting your dogs life & health at risk.

Why would you breed a mixed breed dog? Get both of your dogs altered immediately. Spaying and neutering is the only way to stop pregnancy and the world already has enough unwanted dogs.

First of all, female dogs don't have period. They are in heat cycle. If she gets tied to the male, she can possibly pregnant. If you don't want any accidental puppies, you can take her to the vet to have her spayed or abort the puppies. You don't want to breed more mutts because the shelters are full of mutts.

Please take your dogs to the vet and have them speutered. A young male is able to mate at that age but the puppies will have problems. Terminate the pregnancy and save the life of your female and the expense of having to care for deformed puppies, please.

As with humans, one time only can do it, but it's not a guarantee.
And you should get her spayed if she's not pregnant. You don't know enough to breed your dog.

MIXBREEDS are not breeding quality dogs. Please spay and nueter both of them now, within the next week or so at the most! I cannot beleive how irrseponsible you are to let your dog breed!! Breeding mixes is very risky! you could be risking the life of your female!
