I'm not religious, but I've always had a fondness for Joan of Arc. I love her story, and I share a lot of similarities with her. I liked her when I was little, but there was a big gap where I never thought about her at all. But for some unknown reason, I've taken a sudden, massive interest in her again, and can't stop thinking about her. So I decided to do a little research about saints and the catholic religion. I even went so far as to start reading the Bible out of plain curiosity. And I always thought that would be the last thing I'd do.

So I was wondering. How do YOU choose your saints? Do you have more than one? Through some rather odd dreams and contact with the spirit world, I was lead to St. Augustine of Hippo, the Blessed Damien Yamiki, and St. Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows. I can understand why Joan and Augustine would be my saints, but not so much the other two.

So if anyone has any suggestions for choosing saints, that would be helpful.

And if you want to know more about the dreams/spirit contacts and such that lead me to St. Augustine and the others, then just ask and I'll write it down.

we don't get to choose. our human standards of choosing is horrible. Every human is a sinner period. If it were not for the grace of God not only will humans not live, they can not be or become saints. God's mercies are new every morning and by His grace are we saved and thus invited to partake in the resurrection as Saints. Every wo/man and child who accepts His salvations is a saint as described in the Bible. Simple and true. God bless

I don't know how the Saints are picked, but I can most assuredly tell you that the Roman Catholics don't have the authority to make anybody a Saint!

They are the most wicked of all the religions because they are so pagan in nature while professing to be Christian.

Since the Saints belong to God, I think He is the One that determines that.

God Bless You!
