yeah, when people stop hiring, helping, or otherwise giving them anything at all. They will go home.

If some big name politicians are retired from office over the illegal alien problem and, it is made obvious that the issue was the main reason why some of these career government employees lost their jobs, then maybe.
As long as they think it is not as big of an issue as Lou Dobbs and Bill O'Reilly make it out to be, and they are already calling the voter's bluff by de-funding the fence legislation with that Iraq legislation, then it will never happen.
I don't even think the fence is that good of an idea. It will have very little effect on a problem which needs to be attacked effectively. The people who are de-funding it do think it will be effective and took away the funds for that very reason.
The message they are sending is clear. The answer needs to be just as clear. I don't trust Americans to fire their "bring the pork home politicians" over this, so I think the issue is destined to die, and the illegals are staying.

If we uphold the stated intent of the 14th Amendment (birthright citizenship does NOT apply to aliens illegally here), if we stop the welfare, insist on payment for all services - beginning with elementary school, extra road-use taxes, extra water-treatment taxes, all medical services, etc - if we ENFORCE the existing immigration laws even a little! Then, yes, they will leave voluntarily.

Yes. They will leave when it is no longer easy for them to walk into an emergency room and have a baby. They will leave when it is forbidden for them to get any kind of welfare or food stamps. They will leave when it is illegal for them to get any work in the US. They will leave when they have to prove their right to be here. They will leave when snot nosed liberals stop acting like Americans are the illegals and allow police to ask these illegals to prove their citizenship. They will leave when we change the way we cater to every single minority group like they are little kings and queens here in the USA.
