is there a way to see if someone has been claiming me for taxes?

No.

The two ways you find out are:

a) you go to electronically file, claiming yourself and the efile bounces or b) the IRS contacts you asking you to recheck the rules.

The IRS *can't* tell you. Someone else's tax return is somone else's and telling you about it is a security violation (with potential jail time).

You will find out when you file your tax returns because the IRS will reject it.

You may be able too contact the IRS and just ask them. They will have your SS# on file. They may be able to tell you. Good Luck in finding out something.

If they did and shouldn't have and you claim yourself you will be yours rejected then can fight it.
Did you support yourself? If so you can claim yourself and no one else can.
