ok so on saturday my family friend was over just visiting. This morning she calls us and says her husband is throwing up. I came home from a family dinner today, and found 2 pieces of gum chewed up by my dog. She has done it before so i didnt worry. I then went to midnight mass, and when i came back the dog had thrown up. It wasa brownish color. I noticed that she had just finished all her food. Im thinking it was a combo of the gum and the food, but im just wondering. could she have caught a virus from my family friend. If so...could i get the virus from her? i really dont know
any help would be great...Thanks!!!!

There is no illness that is transferable between dogs and humans. Or for that matter, humans and any other animal on the planet, with the exception of apes and chimps. AIDS, herpes, and Ebola are among a few of the diseases that can be given to a human by a monkey, and vice-versa. So no, your dog didn't get sick from your friend, and you can't get sick from your dog.

No you can't catch any kind of virus from your dog.
It sounds like the gum and her food combination.
Merry Christmas!

No, because they are two totally different viruses. They may have the same illnesses, but it is almost impossible for that to happen.
