No, you won't go to hell because you haven't been baptized. The thief on the cross wasn't baptized and Jesus told him he would be in paradise. Study your Bible and pray.

This is a tough question. I'm sure you realize that both of your parents come from faiths that believe you need to be baptized. If your really scared there are plenty of churches that will baptize you. What's more is that there are many spiritual people who will help you become baptized without even entering a churches doors. What's more is that going through with a baptism can be a life affirming and changing experience. I would recommend it to you simply because it will bring you closer to what your parents believe.

On a more personal note:

I personally do not feel that getting wet is what baptism is all about. The act of being baptized is a physical representation of what is actually a spiritual reality. I think the condition of your heart is what's really important.

I have three questions for you.

1. Do you believe God exists.

2. Do You love God with all your heart mind and soul.

3. Do your actions support the answers you gave to the first two questions.

The third question is key. Think as you go through each day. Were the things I did today done to make me happy or to make the world a better place for other people.

You ask will you go to hell. I ask have you lived your life in a way that makes you worthy to not go to hell

. If you can't answer yes to this then you need to repent. Repenting is asking God to forgive you for all the bad things you have done and then not doing them anymore.

HI,

I am sorry that you are suffering from one of the many evils present in our current world, but just know the new world is coming soon. Isaiah 65:17-25

Just as some of the others have said, go and get baptised as you have the time to do it, but understand that we will all be judged and rewarded based on our actions. Rev 20:11-13 The books of life will give an account of everything we have done and I do hope on that day you will be able to stand before our lord and hold your head up high. Only you know what this day will represent for you, but we will all be there that day.

So, get your Bible and read so that God can comfort you in this time of fear.

You say you "fear" that you have a terminal illness, but that's not the same as saying you have been "diagnosed" with a terminal illness. Maybe it's nothing more than a guts-ache and you'll feel better in the morning.

My guess is that you're feeling rather insignificant at the moment and this question is a last ditch effort to inject a little drama into your life.

If you want a biblical answer then read Mark 16:16 (KJV) where it is clearly states that if you are not baptized then you are damned.

When the Angel Gabriel came to Mary to tell her she would become the mother of the Saviour, Jesus, he first said to her, "Do not be afraid." Jesus Himself also said many times, "Do not be afraid."

So, first, do not be afraid. God is all-loving and all-merciful.

Go to your nearest Catholic Church and ask to speak to a priest. Trust God that the priest who sees you is the one God wants you to talk to. Whether he looks like he's 100 years old or even if he look like he's 15 years old - trust that he's the one that God has hand-picked for you.

Then, tell him exactly what you wrote in your question. Tell him of your fears. Tell him that you couldn't understand the classes. Tell him how much you want to be baptized.

Although the usual way to come into the Church is through the classes, it's not the only way. Maybe the priest can instruct you privately, or at least start out with some private instructions until you may be better able to understand the classes. Also, with some private instructions, you will be able to ask as many questions as you need to ask. You may not be able to do that in the classes.

The priest will want you to be baptized and come into the Church even more than you want it !! You can be assured that he will be praying for you from the first time you meet with him. And I'm sure that many others (and me too) who have read your question will be praying for you too.

Most importantly, God -- who loves you and forgives you when you are sorry for any sins you've committed in your life -- can read your heart. He sees your fears. He sees that you want to be baptized, that you've tried to learn more about the Church... Even if you died this very second, He would see that you haven't been able to be baptized yet (and, really, it was your parents' responsibility), and would consider you as having a "baptism of desire". Jesus died on the Cross so we wouldn't go to hell, and the only people who do are those who reject and deny God until their dying breath. And even then, it isn't even God who sends them to hell, they choose it freely. A person who has either hated or denied or rejected God their entire life will not magically change when they die. You certainly don't sound like such a person.

P.S. Did you know that when you are baptized, every sin you have ever committed is washed away. Your soul will be brand new, just like a little baby's soul. You will be filled with God's grace which will strengthen you to live a good life. Once you are fully received into the Church and are able to receive the other Sacraments, you will receive more grace each time you receive a Sacrament -- when you receive Confirmation, each time you receive Holy Communion (and you can receive Holy Communion every day as long as you haven't committed any really, really bad sin - and if you have, you can go to the Sacrament of Confession, receive God's forgiveness, and be filled with grace again).

You don't have to believe all the Catholic stuff to get baptized -- you just need to believe in Christ and want to make a public declaration of those beliefs.

You will NOT go to hell if you are not baptized, but unfortunately some people will tell you that you will - they are basing that upon their own denominational doctrine and not scripture.

You have suffered a lot of losses, and now you're scared and confused.

The God of compassion who loves you would not want you to be stressed out over worrying about going to hell just because you haven't been dipped in water -- so don't worry.

You are loved -- you will see your mum and sis again, if and when you die -- my prayer for you is a long and healthy life, I hope you'll be okay and that your illness turns out to not be life threatening.

Peace be with you.

Not always. It depends on your belief really, if you believe, and you live a positive life, doing all you can to better yourself and others around you, then there is no reason why you won't go to some sort of positive place when you pass. My grandmother is christian, so is my aunt, my family was always generally religious, however, my parents believed I should chose on my own. I made it a point to learn some of the religions I came across, and I ultimately learned compassion and acceptance.

Whoever is out there watching over us is not a cruel person, they want you to be the best you can be that is why you were put here. Any religion will basically tell you that. You can't fix the past, but you can change your future.

I was baptized and that's when I received the Holy Spirit and my life was forever changed.
I don't think you will go to hell just because your not baptized.
I think though that as long as you have repented of your sins and asked for forgiveness and asked Jesus to be your Lord and Savior you will go to heaven.
Oh and above all you'll need to love God with all your heart.
But it wouldn't hurt to be baptized so why don't you?
I hope you start feeling better soon and I'm sorry your mom and sister have passed away.

Hi,

Hell is definitely a real place, so it is wise of you to fear. However, the only thing necessary for you to spend eternity with God is to accept His son, Jesus Christ. Just say a prayer confessing that He has risen from the dead, and ask Him to come live in your heart. After that, you won't have time to worry about hell, because you will be so overwhelmed by the peace, love and acceptance that Christ has for you. It's all about having a relationship with Jesus. He knows you and loves you. God bless and Merry Christmas.

Sweetie, Jesus died on the cross once for all for all sins through time and if you ask him to forgive and save you,He will. You may still die but you will be assured a home in heaven with Him.

For Me, I can hardly wait. A loving Lord and elder brother and a new body that doesn't Hurt. That's just an offer I don't want to refuse!!

when Jesus died on the cross there were 2 thieves who also died , one that accepted Him and the other that didn't. where did Jesus tell the one that did he would go ? this man wasn't baptized . all he did was to admit that he was a sinner , ask to be forgiven and accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior . It's truly accepting Christ as Lord and Savior Through God's Grace that will save you , not water. baptism is to show the world what Christ has done in your heart and that your His . it also says that not only have you been cleaned inside , but inside and out . so to answer your question , no you don't . but its best if you are .
