Atheist Machine are there two Bibles, better read again.

When quoting the Bible you need to read the verses before and after. Luke 19:27 does not have verses after but read before.

Look at the King James version of Luke 19:27. Yes, the Jews, Christians and now the Extreme Islamists have been "told" to kill in the name of God. Does this mean that we shouldn't adhere to any of these religions because of this flaw? NO!

The fact is that Christianity is God inspired, and written down through the hand of men. Because of the latter, it is flawed. But the truth is the truth. Meaning that if it's wrong, (which killing is), then it will be corrected. In contemporary Christianity, killing is no longer taught. Christianity has evolved. Let's pray that Islam does too.

The Koran kinda points that way.

The bible ( I think it's in Luke' says to bring all before me....oh, I can't be @r$ed to go into detail, look it up) but it's not talking about God.

And athiest dude above me, so am I, but it depends on the interpretation.

Guess that's what a lot of our problems stem from. Individuals interpretations of various religious writings. Right across the board. Unfortunately, if those who have influence in their religion interpret it in an 'agressive' way then it gets passed down to the mere followers.

So Merry Tuesday everyone! lol! ;-)

it's luke 19:27, right before he tells his disciples to steal a horse. open your bibles, indeed.

edit:
luke19:30 'Saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither.' which is right before he goes into jerusalem to teach in the temple. it goes up to verse 48.

the atheists actually are right about you people. you don't know your own scripture.

"Luke 17:27" quote above is made up.

But there is this one bit:
Matthew 10:34-36 (NIV)
Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to turn
" 'a man against his father,
a daughter against her mother,
a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law—
a man's enemies will be the members of his own household.

You don't kill and you don't shun either. Jesus said: "Love your enemies! Give to them that curse you and despise you! And Love your neighbor as yourself." Cannot bring yourself to do this? Then there is little hope for you according to King David who said: "Pride goeth before a fall."

Ouch! Should I be watching my back??? I've read quite a bit of the Bible, even though I'm Agnostic, and I don't recall ever reading or hearing about that!

And the so called Atheist below needs to get a clue! Duh!

Luke 17:27 does not say what the "athiest machine" says it does.

This is NONSENSE.
