Why does God allow suffering? If Jehovah God is all-powerful, loving, wise, and just, why is the world so full of hatred and injustice?
The Bible teaches that “he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7) God hates wickedness and the suffering it causes far more than any human does. (Isaiah 55:8, 9) The Bible also says: “Far be it from the true God to act wickedly, and the Almighty to act unjustly!”—Job 34:10.
Obviously, then Jehovah God is not to blame for this suffering. Do you know why people make the mistake of blaming God for all the suffering in the world? In many cases, they blame Almighty God because they think that he is the real ruler of this world. They do not know a simple but important truth that the Bible teaches. The real ruler of this world is Satan the Devil. The Bible clearly states: “The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.” (1Â John 5:19) When you think about it, does that not make sense? This world reflects the personality of the invisible spirit creature who is “misleading the entire inhabited earth.” (Revelation 12:9) Satan is hateful, deceptive, and cruel. So the world, under his influence, is full of hatred, deceit, and cruelty. That is one reason why there is so much suffering.
There are two other reasons why there is so much suffering:
2) Mankind has been imperfect and sinful ever since the rebellion in the garden of Eden. Sinful humans tend to struggle for dominance, and this results in wars, oppression, and suffering. (Ecclesiastes 4:1; 8:9)
3) "Time and unforeseen occurrence.” (Ecclesiastes 9:11) In a world without Jehovah as a protective Ruler, people may suffer because they happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

~ EDIT ~
When dealing with anxieties, stress or hurt, remember these scriptures:
1 Corinthians 10:13
"No temptation has taken you except what is common to men. But God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear, but along with the temptation he will also make the way out in order for you to be able to endure it."
Isaiah 41:10
"Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not gaze about, for I am your God. I will fortify you. I will really help you. I will really keep fast hold of you with my right hand of righteousness."

Bad things happen because of the sin of man who did not heed God's warning.
Although a bad thing happened to the 7 month old who died God in His mercy saves him and gives him eternal life because a baby had no knowledge of the law and God will not imput any sin on him.
If the thirty year old was a Christian the bad thing happened to him because for some reasons he was out of God's grace and protection. Even then he would inherit eternal life and enjoying his presence with the Lord. Death is still victory for a Christian (1 Corinthians 15:55) and God can find a way out for his five year old.

When Jesus died at 33, he left behind a mother, father, brothers and sisters.
He was murdered, beaten, mocked, stabbed, spit on, his beard pulled out, whipped, tied, nailed.
Many made fun of him, made him an outcast.
He was denied, betrayed, taken into custody under false pretense, held in jail without a lawyer.
Owned nothing, not a house, not a field.
Had to sleep outside, or at a friends house.
Forsaken by all his friends.
And lest we forget, alot alot alot of what happens in this world is OUR own doing to one another.
So the next time you see a homeless, either pass him up, or drive by, and ask yourself, why we allow bad things to happen.
Many of us bought our pets gifts this season..so how many gave equal amount to charity.
Society kicked God out of the schools, and we have more dead students than ever.
We have had 3 mall shootings.
We hammer Hucklebee for saying Merry Christmas on tv.
And we ask why??
Look at you...the next time a young mother leaves behind a precious baby, try knocking on the families door, and start something good. We are suppose to be neighbors right?

People have asked this question since the day after they agreed that there was a God. It transcends peoples and religions. We confuse the concept that God is all-powerful with the concept that God will have only good things happen because he can prevent the opposite from happening. Read "When Bad Things Happen to Good People" by Abraham Twersky.

Many people want to blame God. Take God out of the picture and who can you blame. We create our own reality! God does not interfere in our lives! What you sew you shall reap.
The Universal Law of Cause and effect.
There are many reasons why bad things happen to good people.
Read some of Delores Cannons books. I suggest you start with Between Life and Death.

If you look at the world objectively, it is clear that God is not actively exerting any sort of CONSISTENT influence over the physical universe.
The possibilities:
-God exists, but wants us to make our own choices.
- God exists, but couldn't care less about his creation
-God exists, but is not omnipotent, and so is just a really powerful senient being
- God doesn't exist

Example: You're walking beside your beloved child and you take every precaution within your human capacity to ensure that no harm comes to him. He falls and hurts himself anyway.
Did you allow it ? No. Infact you did all that was humanly possible to prevent this from happening.
If we were never faced with adversity we wouldn't recognize joy, peace and fullfillment when faced with it. Jesus said that in this world we would endure tribulation, but be of good cheer for I have overcome this world. If they hated Me,they will hate you also.

"God" is just a state of mind. They may not feel it now but can still try to find the goodness in things in other ways. I haven't believed in "god" for a decade but have found alternatives. You don't always have to go with the flow.

He is testing our faith...but then again, that is key to answering all questions about why God does certain things: like "why doesn't he just come down to make us believe"
