I say "singularity" in that the Big Bang concept is a super mass/energy from nowhere, erupted into the "known universe" followed by spontaneous life on Earth from "abiogenesis", which "evolved" from one simple organism to all that is alive today and all that has died off between now and then.

(NOT being sarcastic)

Believers in this speak with clarity as though NO speculation is involved in these concepts.

Thus my question, which of the two contain the most speculation;

- "religion" OR

- "nothing /singularity from nothing /controlled expansion /formation of galaxies /abiogenesis /evolution"?

(A little sarcasm there for fun)

Religion. The theory of evolution was developed by observing natural phenomena.

Its the religion of islaam clearly says about the '' Big Band theory as We all know about the ?Big Bang theory and the evolution.
we all know about the ' Big Bang, where the universe was once joined together as one big primary nebula. Then there was a big bang or explosion which resulted the formation of galaxies. These then divided to form the stars, planets, moons, satellites and the earth we live in. Scientist estimates that there are about 250 billion galaxies in the universe and each galaxy contains 300 billion stars!

The Quran speaks about the ''Big Bang'' in 21:30

''Do not the unbelievers see that the heavens and earth was once joined together (as one unit of creation) before We clove them asunder.''

In 1929, Edwin Hubble with the aid of a giant telescope discovered that the galaxies were moving further and further from the earth. Later some other scientists discovered that the galaxies were also moving further from one another. This proved that the universe is not stable but it is steadily expanding. Stephen Hawkins in his book ''A brief history of time'' mentioned:

The discovery that the universe was expanding was one of the greatest intellectual revolutions of the 20th century?.

1400 years ago, before man even learnt how to build a telescope, the Quran mentions in 51:47

''For it is We who created the universe, which is steadily expanding''.

If the universe is expanding with time then it means if we go back in time, the universe would be shrinking to a point of zero matter. Thus the universe must have been created from nothing; no matter, no time and no space! This also proofs that the universe didn't exist by itself but was created by a Creator God. The Qur?'an also mentions this fact in 6:101

''Allah is the originator of heavens and earth''.

The idea that the universe started from a "Big Bang", is not only pure speculation it is ludicrous and has no "scientific" basis at all. The idea that a complete living cell came into existence when a lightening strike hit water is even more laughable.

When you ask about how much speculation there is in religion it depends on what religion you're talking about and what version of that religion. Personally, I know that there is no speculation in the Bible. It is the revealed word of God.

Both require faith, as there is no exact "proof" of either. I personally believe in creation. The Theory of Evolution is just that, a theory.
A theory, by definition is "A systematic arrangement of facts with respect to some real or hypothetical laws; a hypothetical explanation of phenomena; a hypothesis not yet empirically verified as law but accepted as the basis of experimentation"

Philosophy is the study of knowledge. What you are attempting to discuss would not be understandable in a cheap science fiction story.
Big bangs do not happen from nowhere. They are preceded by other incidents leading to the creation of a black hole. All the Big Bang theorists concede that creation began from a very small, highly compressed form of matter. In my opinion it began from the will of God.
Life on earth was not spontaneous.
To get it correctly, don't worry about how the universe began. Be concerned about how your actions are leading you to a better reality.

What is the theory of evolution from a singularity? From nowhere? You confuse two theories; one cosmological, which you do not even intimate an understanding of and evolutionary theory, which only applies after life is on the earth, thus having nothing to do with abiogenisis.

I do not think you know the difference between evidence and stupidity!

Well the real answers to the real questions about reality required far more speculation then "God did it" but the big thing is that they used reality checks (experiment) to make sure they had the best answers.
They also kept making the answers better and more accurate every time they found out that they were wrong instead of just burning to death anybody who pointed a mistake out.

So Science required more speculation, but it is also much more accurate.

Both, since either A: our knowledge of the entirety of science is a tiny drop in the bucket, or B we aren't smart enough to hit on any more of God's plan than he wants us to.

I'd call that a tie, with an edge to God for being more complicated than our ability to perceive science.

both, but a little more speculation for religion because at least the Big Bang concept is science based

Well obviously religion. I mean you have so many options and opinions to weed through to get any answers. Not to mention that if the big bang/abiogenesis/evolution could in any way be discredited we would drop it. We would move on to the next theory. With religion, even when things are disproven people still hold onto them as truth.

If by religion you mean a zombie jew god born of a virgin and resurrected after three days, or an illiterate desert peasant flying up to heaven on a horse....I would put my money on the big bang requiring the least speculation.
