As the maker of life , the universe etc. etc. don't you think God was capable of handling humans on his own.
Don't you think he would be more than capable of saying "Ok the old times are past these are new times you can come to heaven if i deem you worthy."

It seems like the long way around to have to have a son and all that just to do what he was capable of doing anyways.
Jesus as a "savior and a deity" makes no sense to me whatsoever.

An omnipresent and all powerful maker of all things int he universe and life to need to make a baby to save humans is absolutely mind numbingly nonsensical.

It's really a shame that people, both Christians and atheists, get caught up in the dogma of religion, assuming mistranslated and misinterpreted texts are literal rather than metaphorical. I believe that this can be one of our worst pitfalls when it comes to spirituality.

Well I believe that all things are a manifestation of God, and humans are the only ones who feel it necessary to state this claim! Unfortunately, a lot of people DON'T realize that we are, essentially, God, and therefore they live their lives in a way that is separate from their divine self.

Jesus, however, was one of the few human beings who realized that he was God, and he acted accordingly. He tried to set an example but the humans who were separated from their inner Godhood somehow decided to kill him.

Things aren't any different today, really... It's extremely hard to live in this world, especially if you are walking a path of righteousness. The world is suffering, according to Buddhism, it belongs to Satan, according to Christianity, and I think that even atheists can agree that it's not always a very kind place...

But there is beauty here, but it can only be seen once we've found peace within our own soul; once we've found an energy sacred enough to be known as God.

I wish everyone the best in finding that :) Take care...

This question ain't to me (not a Chrostian :-p ), but like everyone else here, I got something to say!

Try not to think like a human. God is so freaking smart (He is omnipotent after all), that we are unbelievably dumb by comparison. How, then, does God make us understand anything? Seriously, can you explain the mathematical concept of zero to an infant? Make that a retarded infant. (Given how stupid we are compared to God, I'm really giving the retarded infant lots of credit.)

God figured another human could do it. Was Jesus God's actual son? Sure, arn't we all His children? Regardless, the real question is how could the super smart God have made such a wrong assumption that Jesus could teach the retarded masses anything? Shoot we're so dumb we killed him.

Answer? He works in mysterious ways. Have faith and don't question Him. He's too smart and we're way to dumb to understand anything he does anyway.

OK, a more serious answer would have something to do with free will. He could make us believe whatever He willed, but to truly save our souls, we must willingly choose to believe. If he appeared to you and showed you a true miracle, what choice would you have but to believe? By sending a human to give us the the information needed to make the choice, we get the opportunity to save ourselves. Did Jesus' death absolve us of sin. Maybe. Did his death make him a martyr and spread the word that we need to make a choice or burn in Hell. Certainly.

LOL!!!!!
Only Yesterday a Christian friend asked me why Muslims assume that God the maker of all things had to take the Prophet Mohammad for a visit to Heaven; so I told him that no one knows the ways of God...then again, the Quran states that the mother of Jesus was a virgin and have folks wondering who was his dad.
In other words, both Christians and Muslims get themselves in trouble while criticizing each other...do we have to? What are we trying to prove..that what we think is right and they are wrong??? Aren't we all searching for the same..one true God?
one more thing...Aren't we all Children of God??? So why can't Jesus be also a son of God?

Can I answer that?

OK, thanks

Because man thinks that man is the center of the universe, despite the fact that we are about as significant as a speck of sand. We have an ego that is about as big as a bloated whale thats had its fill of krill. We think we are so divine that we imagine God in our own image.

Yet we kill each other. Some even approve of the most inhuman means of expression, such as torture, or burning people alive and blowing them to bits.

Some of those that approve of that are some who claim to be the most religious. Don't care what side of the fence they sit on, the duplicity and contradictions astound the mind.

How frigging fuvved up is that?

Peace

Jim

I would love to explain it to you but you seem rather closed minded. When you make polemical statements such as:

"An omnipresent and all powerful maker of all things int he universe and life to need to make a baby to save humans is absolutely mind numbingly nonsensical."

You tell me, "I can't comprehend it so it's not true." That is not exactly fair or even in the realm of possibility.

If you ever wish to understand I will explain it but I am not sure you want to know.

If I am wrong feel free to correct me and I will be happy to apologize and discuss this with you.

Have a merry Christmas anyway and I wish you peace and happiness.

Lets say you were the person who made all the ants in this world. You wanted them to live according to your set out laws, so that they could live a righteous life. But they turned their backs on you and cursed you. And because of this they suffered many afflictions that broke your heart. So by changing their behaviour you had to do something that would bring them back into line again. You see you made them with free wills so that they would on their own accord worship and adore you, who made them in the first place. So the only way you could do this was to come to them as an ant. Born to a chosen virgin ant with an emaculate birth, sinless.
This is the way you decided to come to them, you used your 'heavenly' language and shared it with them, but they could not understand you as they were ants remember?
So you said if everyone of you ants would believe in me and the way I came to you, you will be saved and become my special children again. But still many believed half heartedly, and many others chose a different way even though you said this is the way. You told them again and again through your special obedient servant ants but you refused them also even killing them. You said if any ant would listen and believe, they would become a holy and righteous ant, and be allowed to share your secrets and know your mind and will, and understand your language.
I am sure you are beginning to understand the greatest storey told, by the greatest person who ever lived.
God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit are One

God could not forgive Adam and Eve, and had to send a son to earth to die as a sacrifice to atone the sin of humans. That is not very logical to me. Why couldn't he simply forgive Adam and Eve?

because sending His Son to die on the cross for us shows His love for us--we are lowly sinners who soo do not near deserve His mercy/grace/love!!! by sending His Son down to earth, it created the opportunity to show His agopy love for us. He was willing to allow His only Son to die in order for us to live! if He would have did as you say, to me, it would make God out to be this big Dictator who appears to not really care about His "subjects" and seem heartless, merciless. our going to heaven would be based more on our good works and less about faith. you see, by Him sending His son into the world it caused us to humble ourselves and admit that we are sinners and that we are in desperate need of a Savior, in order to restore our relationship with God. His Son is His gift to us--it's up to us whether we will just acknowledge & accept Him.

believe it or not, there are things God can't do. First and foremost he can't stand in the presence of sin. Because of that, and our sinful nature, God "needed" someone to be a "middleman" and bring us to him. That is why faith in Jesus is the only way to God, as Jesus said "I am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father but by me".

Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Read.

Our minds are limited by our perception of reality. The things of God are for us to believe, not necessarily understand.

God's son was his first creation. With His son, God then created all other things.

Colossians 1:15
"He (Jesus) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation."

==> Genesis 1:26
Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."

God then used His wisdom to provide a way for humans to be redeemed while Satan and his followers (angels) have no way back. Thus He sent His son to Earth in human form to suffer AND sacrifice his life for us humans.

Colossians 1:21
Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. 22) But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in his sight"

==> edit: With my mind

"God first created a son we only know as Jesus. He probably did not do it out of need but as a choice (don't know). With Jesus by God's side, they made all other things (angels, singularities, big bangs and such). After this an angel grew jealous and caused man to sin against God. God then sent his son, Jesus to rectify the matter via his sacrifice for humans (not angels). Jesus did so and will return again on a 2nd mission to reclaim the righteous and destroy the wicked."

The rest (above) are references from which this understanding is based.
