OK, so it's Christmas and i just got a BRAND NEW 32in Toshiba Regza LCD Flat Screen TV, and it has these faded vertical lines all over the picture. I havent done any setup besides the channels, i only have basic cable also, can someone tell me what the problem is because honestly the picture on it is worse than my old school box tv.

Most likely you are experiencing signal interference, quite common on new displays. Run out and buy the $99.00 Monster power conditioner. If that doesn't clean it up, the TV may have a problem. Try exchanging it.

If the replacement does the same thing, have the cable company out, it's their fault.

The thing is with new LCDs is that they look like crap if u hook them up to basic cable. Try hooking ur DVD player up to it using some composite cables, or component cables, and u should see great picture. U need to upgrade ur cable. Im not sure if they guy who sold u the tv told u all this. But u need to upgrade to get the most out of ur Tv.

Your cable box or satellite box is to close to another device.

try resplicing the cable coax cord. it could be dirty. if you dont know how to splice it, then try using an eraser to clean the stuff off the copper

I wouldn't waste my time trying to figure this out....I would get that TV boxed back up, and get the purchase receipt and get it EXCHANGED....

You only have 15 days from the date of purchase....

After that, you are forced to get it serviced....

Then you can worry about other possibilities OUTSIDE your TV set.....
