When did you start praying and why?

Wow, I'm really shocked at how young people started praying! This is a good question, I had no idea that people started praying when they were just 4 or 5, mashallah! I started praying when I was around 12. I know this is not good, but before unfortunately I didnt take any interest in praying or my religion until my aunt encouraged me to go mosque and start praying. This was the best decision I had ever made because now in times when I am hurt or sad and even in times of happiness I know who I can turn to, Allah. I pray as much as I can now and I try not to give in to the Shaytan and his ways of tricking me. My only regret is I just wish I had started praying earlier because I know that 12 is still too late.

i can't remember when i learnt praying or the first time i prayed
but i started praying everyday without missing any day at all at the age of 9 because that is the age when a girl should start praying because as you know it gets compulsory at that age, i was brought up in a Muslim country and i guess that also helped me to keep up my praying
i was also really keen to pray because i love praying and alhamdulelah all my family prayed too (i guess I'm a lucky on)
i think i started praying from the age of 6 or 7 i prayed like 4 times a month or something
but when i was a child i used to always try to pray everyday in Ramadan

I started praying when I was 6 or 7 coz my mom told me to do so, but I really started praying regulary 5 times a day when I was 18, I still remember that was after Ramadan, I promised to myself that starting eid I will pray regulary and wear hijab, and Alhamdulillah, Allah made everything easy for me.

Why I pray?
because I know prayer is the best thing we can do to show our love to Allah

well I became Muslim September 12, 2002, I wasn't able to pray until 2 years later because my mom is christian and would refuse to let me practice and would hit me if i tried so when I finally got married I started to learn to pray right away after that I felt that Allah rewarded me with happiness.

I started praying when i was about 11. i think that was a good time bczz i actully knew why i was praying and i knnew islam more than ever. i pray bczz i have and want to thank allah for everything he has given me. i am reallyy reallllyyy blessed.

I started praying when I was 8. during my early teenage, I got so so busy with school studies that I used to miss my prayers, my mom didn't know that because she is a very strict muslim in this regard. Then one day my mom fell sick, and that day I cried alot and Promised Allah not to miss my prayer. I even promised not to listen to music, and ALhumdulillah from then onwards, I did miss prayers and listened to music but not purposely. I have asked Allah for forgiveness and will continue asking till I die.

But now Alhumdulillah I can Proudly say that I offer my prayers regularly~! :)

When did you start praying?
I started praying when i was 5 years old.

And why?
I always use to pray along with my mother when i was a kid, cus i love the way how my mom prays & recite quaran, so i just followed what she did... and im still doing it... thats it... :)

i started praying when i was 8 years old

why \:: bcoz my parents did and when i grew older can came to know in more detail now mashallah my belief in islam is much more stronger and also we pray bcoz it is the order of the almighty
