single level home about 1500sq ft, very sound home with block wall foundation. I'd contract out to make sure it's done right, I just want to get an idea what it's going to cost so I can figure if it's even realistic to think about or not. I live in central wisconsin.

I have seen and heard of this being done. I have hydronic heat and it's a simple floor plan layout and I'm very capable with everything very easily accessable, so mister "forget about it" you may be right about the price being more than I want to spend but I "GUARANTEE" it's not as bad as you try to make it. I'm fully aware of the possibility.. make that certainty of dry wall cracking, that's a minor inconvience easily repaired, I'm not an idiot. as for the plumbing and wiring, nearly all of mine could be lifted with the house needing only an extension to rejoin the plumbing. This isn't an outrageous idea, infact I know it is fairly common, I'm sure it's costly but there has been so many advancements in techniques it's not as big a deal as it used to be. I don't understand why some people feel the need to insult others based more on ideas that actual facts. Does it really make you feel better spoiling someone elses day? Are you really that morbid? If you don't know DON'T comment.

I guarantee you this will cost more than you ever imagined. Not to mention the possibility of cracking drywall throughout your house. Did you think about all the power / gas / water lines being shut off and moved as well. What about your furnace / ducting? In other words FORGET ABOUT IT!
