I think its natural for the cat to go into heat at least once a month. About the normal rate is every 3 monthes. But I guess thats how shes built.

BTW I think you should spay her. There are many cats roaming around now a times, and I just think that there is too many especially outside where they have to live on there own through cold & rough times growing deathly afraid of humans and unsheathed to rabies and things like that.

Female cats can have three litters a year. Going into heat once a month sounds a bit recessive.

Do yourself and your kitty a favor and have her spayed and don't let her out doors unless she's on a leash.

Once a month - you're getting off lucky. Mine, before she was spayed, would go in and out 3 times a month with only 2-4 down time days between.

Get her fixed asap. Hormonal shifts like that aren't good for their bodies. Some get so frustrated they start to spray like males, trying to entice a male into the area.

You might want to double check with your vet. Being in heat that often could be an unnecessary strain on her little body.

By the way, spaying is an excellent idea. It has to be done 3 weeks after her last heat cycle, so that her uterus has had a chance to return to normal size (it swells during heat). Plus, spaying her early prevents the chance of reproductive cancers later in life.

NO it is NOT normal. I had my cat spayed after she had a georgeous litter of four, which we kept. While the mother is feeding her little ones, she cannot come into season. When they are weaned, have her spayed.
