Different people draw out handshakes for different amounts of time. The handshake alone cannot be a determining green or red light.
It is hard to tell from a handshake whether he likes you or not. Extended eye contact during the handshake however, would increase the likelihood that he likes you. Either way, I would agree that you need to collect additional information. Having conversations and getting to know the person will definitely help you to get to know where he is coming from.
Once you know this guy and are comfortable with him, it would be a good idea to ask him directly if he likes you. If he does, it will take a lot of pressure off of him, and will help to expedite the potential relationship. If he doesn't like you, at least you'll both be on the same page, and can develop the relationship as a friendship, which in itself can be rewarding.

Either way it's not to cool to shake a mans hand at all, let alone a while. Some don't wash after the bathroom. This I see everyday in men's rooms.

Uhm, it's a handshake. Are you in middle school or something? If you like him, talk to him, flirt and see how he reacts. Don't overanalyze things.

Hahaha, it could mean several things. Just think of it this way, if he shook your hand for a long time then he obviously does not find you discusting. So i would say he likes you :D Good Luck!
