The Universe is about 13-14 billion years old. That is dated by running the current expansion backwards.
The galaxies all formed about a billion years later. Now to say how old the Milky Way is would involve you defining exactly what you mean because they go through collisions all the time. So it was considerably smaller at one time.
The Earth, Sun and Solar system are all about 4.5 billion years old. This is dated by several radiometric methods, the first of which was U-Pb.

The universe is usually accepted as being 13 - 14 billion years old, based on the heat given off by the oldest known stars, white dwarves.

Our solar system is believed to be formed around 4.6 billion years ago, around the same time that the Earth and Sun formed as well. According to the nebular theory, a giant cloud of molecular gas several light years across was attracted together by gravity, to form the Sun, and other planets.

Who cares, no matter what the truth is, 5 or 10 billion years old, the religious types and their bible will say its 6000 years old, but that just makes no sense to me. I guess this god character is an effin great magician or something.

This does not shake my belief in the Bible. I simply question the interpretation some have of the Bible.
