All males who turn 18 are required to register for the Selective Service. This roster would be used in the draft was ever needed again to fill military positions.
You must register or face arrest and prosecution.

Its a pool that puts your name in the draft. All men between the ages of 18-25 must fill it out, and will be considered for conscription. Legally, I think you have about a month to fill it out (after you turn 18). Otherwise, it is considered a felony. You cannot get FAFSA money until you do, and it is needed for some other things, espeically anything endorsed by the government. If there is a draft, 18 y.o.'s are the last to be drafted and 20 y.o. the first. It's really not that big of a deal, and you should probably get it done before you need to and get fined.

every US male citizen at age 18 must register for the Selective Service. If there was ever a draft, for the military, the SS list would show the government who is eligible. you can do this at a post office.

Every Male between the ages of 18(?) and 25 have to register for the Selective Service, which is in case of severe war. If a war becomes so horrible and the armed forces numbers plummet, a draft is introduced like in Viet Nam. you will be forced into a military basic training, then off to battle whether you want to or not. It has never been implimented since Viet Nam, nor do I doubt it'll be used anytime soon.

Its the draft registration. All US citizen males must register at 18 and it stays active until 26. If you plan on applying for a federal job. They will check.

It is just registering for the database that would be used in the event of a draft.
you are required by law to register and if you don't you can never get any government job or aid.

It puts your name in a potential draft pool.
It is required to register when you turn 18. Its the law. Allot of places ensure you do it for employment, loans, or financial aide. Because they cannot give it to someone who has not registered.

All it is is registering you for the draft if they need too. Its just giving recruiters your name and address pretty much. Once you turned 18 they should've sent you the form anyways to fill it out. It's nothing serious though
