I know she has a great personality, but I wonder if you think she's pretty?
The REAL reason for this question is to show a totally unaltered image from my D300. I didn't read anything, but stuck my spare battery and a CF card in the camera and Jess rolled over and meowed at me. I didn't realize that the camera was set to allow a shutter speed as low as 1/2 second, even with the flash. My bad. I wasn't ready for this and probably moved. Anyhow...
View this in the original size and see what you think for sharpness. Isn't she pretty?

I'm talking about the D300 - not the cat!
Cropped to 1834x1985 from 4288x2848 image, but otherwise unaltered. (3.6 MP of the original 12.2 MP image)

Piano Man and Bob - HA! You have both "shown yourself" in your answers. I'm actually glad to see that I didn't get a hundred people jumping on the "Am I pretty?" question.
Lidy - does your head turn all ready and pepperminty when it's done in?
IceCube - I have a D200 and keep a fully charged spare battery on hand, so there was no waiting! If you want to see some of my stuff, click on my x-ray avatar and there is a link to my Flickr site.
Ara - I've put the D200 in the D300 box for now, just so she sees that the other half lives exactly as she does. It's an exact fit, by the way. This has a lot to do with my decision to make this purchase, by the way - if you know what I mean.

Antoni - This is the 4th picture I took with the camera. (Nikon must have shot one in the factory, since Exif shows it is shutter release #5.) The dead roses are #1 and #2. I'll get to white balance in a day or two. I just wanted to shoot SOMETHING!!!
Edwin - Show these to Bob. All but two are his new crush, Jess.

FOR THOSE WHO FIND THAT THEIR HEAD IS ALL DONE IN WHEN VIEWING THINGS UPSIDE DOWN

It is going to really mess with you to know that the one you like is actually upside down...

Well, first of all let me congratulate you on your new acquisition of the D300. I bet you didn't fully charge the battery yet before you took this picture. (I can't wait to get my hand on it and point and shoot as well). My first batch taking pictures on the D300 was somewhat like 50 shots. Following by about 500 shots after I fully charge the battery.
I think I will post it on my 360 page after I got home today so I can invite you to see those pictures as well. They weren't that great contest photography, but some were really nice and surprisingly, I don't know the full potential of it yet. May be I should establish a correspondent with you!
Any how, your picture is what I'm talking about in my previous question. To be able to take indoor pictures without flashlight and capture the real colour of things (and objects) without painting everything white with large shadow behind.
Congratulations, well done and nice pix.
You should create your 360 page and post some of your pictures on so we could see. I did a whole load of mine. Some good some bad, but not yet from D300.

The camera does shot really sharp images. I wish mine did that. You can really see it on her head, where it is not blurred from her movement.
By the way, I left you a comment before you posted this question. Here is the cat I was talking about. I'll try to get a picture of her on her back tomorrow:

Season's Greetings, Dr Sam!
I'm sure your D300 is indeed beautiful! Congratulations on the lovely lady. Is the D200 jealous? If so, I can give it a great home :-)
BTW, kitty is pretty, too.

She's absolutely gorgeous! But I don't find it very attractive when girls don't shave their armpits or legs. And she's got a hairy back, facial hair, hairy hands and feet and the biggest put-off of all, hairy breasts.
