Fertility rites, magic mushrooms, some sun worshipping, nekked probably of course, that's where all this stuff came from, sounds like it used to be pretty cool. Funny that's the people the church itself has went after, why xtians, why?

And the born again fanatics ruined Christianity by, instead of concentrating on Christ's message of love, justice, and helping the poor (liberation theology), chose to dwell on passages from the Old Testament regarding homosexuality! Odd they do not also mention stoning for adultery - which is also there!

So before you cast your stones at Catholicism, look at yourselves!

One word: Power

Several words:(from the Tao Te Ching)
If people do not fear death
How can they be threatened with death?
If people are made to constantly fear death
Then those who act unlawfully
Can capture and kill them
Who would dare?

There were a few corrupt people who wanted power, and they saw how many people loved the message that the Christians were spreading. But the message they were spreading taught people not to fear death, so at first by subtlety, and then by force, the face of Christianity was changed. It was around the time of Constantine that it changed from subtlety to force.

Good question!

The Roman Catholics know the answer, even though they call themselves Christian they are no more Christian than their father, Satan!

And neither are their pagan rituals and beliefs!

God Bless You!
