Did you ever feel like the world was heading somewhere but after a while you felt like it never got there?

After 9/11 I started feeling like everything was heading somewhere; like something big was coming. That's when I started to get really interested in religion and politics. Now I've got that feeling that we never got there.

I'm a believer, not religious. I don't do that church thing anymore. When you stop focusing on people and what happens in the world, you can gain a true focus on what really matters. Knowing God and getting closer to him is really all the hope that we really need to get through this world. Religion and politics will always disappoint you because it is about men and their ways. Establish the difference between men's ideas and Gods ways and you will find what you are seeking for.

The problem is that we, as a species, get all hyper about something for a short period of time but then the "Shiny Factor" kicks in and like raccoons with a hunk of tin-foil, we wander off and our attention gets diverted to the next "Big" thing.

Be it terriorism, gay marrage, or the latest blond teeny bopper to be kidnapped or killed we ALWAYS get board with the current "Crisis" and move on to something different.

It is really sad that our species has such a short attention span.

We are no better then racoons!

Yeah I kinda felt that way.

I mean - after 9/11 this whole 'war' thing - it's just making a bigger mess. I mean sometimes I seriously wanna slap the damn U.N. and say something like, ''Maybe the reason they bombed us is because we're so civilized unlike Africa, or India or other countries. I hate war.

The main reason why people move closer to God is because of hurt or tragedy... When things are going well, there is no need for God.

You were scared and needed His comfort... thay is why you and millions of others react like this!

Big things happen all the time. But most of them go unnoticed for until years later.

sounds like your searching for answers. Keep asking, your questions will be answered. I'm a born again believer in Jesus Christ, but at times in my life i have lost my way. God is faithful, patient, and so much more. Don't put on God what you expect, but try to wait upon what his answer maybe and really try to listen. It isn't always easy, well its hardly ever easy, but I have more peace in my life when i do listen.

Honestly, the only time I felt that something "big" was when the church kept telling me that jesus was coming back....
