2... Matthew 1 and Luke 3 include genealogies for Jesus. The only other passage that lists ancestors and might get a little consideration is 2Timothy 1:5 "I remember your honest and true faith. It was alive first in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice. And I am certain that it is now alive in you also."

BOTH genealogies for Jesus are as they present themselves: records of the family line of Joseph, NOT one of Joseph and one of Mary. The differences likely lie in one being "legal" and the other biological.
The scriptures indicate that Mary was likely Levite (like her "cousin" = close relative, Elizabeth -- Luke 1:5 & 26) and Joseph was from Judah, like his ancestor, David.

There are two major genealogies in the New Testament. One in Matthew 1 follows the family line of Jesus through his step-father Joseph. The other in Luke 3 follows Jesus' family line through his in-laws (his mother Mary). There are dozens of single generation genealogies in which someone is listed as "the son of" for identification purposes.
