1 BC is the year before 1 AD. There was no year zero, because zero wasn't known at the time. The numbers we use now were introduced by the Arabs long after the Gregorian calendar was established.

1 AD is not the year of his death. The division between BC and AC is just his birth. As the "dates" were not set until centuries later, they "missed" the actual year by about 4-6 years. The Bible does not give a year date for his birth. It appears that Jesus was actually born between 6 and 4 BC. His death was between 28 and 30 AD.

Actually Jesus was probably born about 4 or 5 BC. Go figure. And the 'AD' means Anno Domini, " In the year of our Lord" rather than 'After Death.'

First of all, A.D. does not mean "after death" but "Anno Domini" (guess) which is Latin for " Year of Our Lord". The Years he was alive was A.D. 1 - 33. But properly, in the attempt by the Secular-Progressives to de-Christianize the world, it is now referred to has B.C.E.( Before Common Era) and C.E. (Common Era). See what has happened to the world.

BC stands for "Before Christ" and refer to the years before the year 0 or 1. AD is Latin for Anno Domini and means "year of our Lord"

AD is short for anno domini.
Anno Domini means, in Latin, in the year of our Lord.
It denotes the year that Jesus was supposedly born.
So 1 AD is not one year after his death, it was one year after his birth. Jesus died in the year 33 AD

1 AD is NOT one year after his death, it's that easy. The years follow like: 3 BC, 2 BC, 1 BC, 1 AD, 2 AD... there were no gaps.
