Usually proper etiquette requires taking a hat off but the article below that has an expert interview said that if it's a part of a "woman's ensemble" it's ok to leave it on. Maybe it's ok for a man too then?
I guess just watch to see what the other men do and follow their cue.

Take it off. Etiquette says you should take off a hat indoors, but never wear one at the table.
