1. If it is big vase and you can see through it, try putting some big polished rocks and some fish in it. If you have some other place to put it up off the floor, that would be cool.
2. Another idea is to put big polished rocks in it and a bamboo plant (no dirt).
3. Make some kind of tropical fountain with it.

If it's clear you can put some rocks in it and have some scents in it so that it smells good. If not, you can just put it on a short table and leave it empty. Umbrella. I once saw someone build a coat rack with a wide vase as the base. It was super super glued down and was very cute.

Find some tall, curvy branches and spray paint them with a clear coat just to give a sheen (like after it rains) or use black, white, gold.

River rocks, colored stones, a real plant in water with a betta fish swimming around it, stones in the botom. Pretty much whatever you want to.

If it's large enough, you can use it for an umbrella stand. I've seen people doing that.
