I have seen friends cameras, and they take really nice pictures. Does anyone have any suggestions of some nice cameras that take great pictures?

well sony and cannon are 2 really good brands now both i know take really good pictures! i have a sony but all my other friends got cannons but they both take wonderfull pictures! i would also like to tell you that on any of the cannon and sony cameras they have this little flower on the back of the camera (usually)somewhere near the up,down, left and right navagation keys its called the marco setting. this seting will help you and also make you take pictures as if you where a pro! man i love it they turn out crystal clear but i don't know about how any of the other brands turn out with this setting i have only seen the sony and cannon so i think any of the 2 name bands i think you will be happy. and make sure you use that marco Remember the flower!!! its the best

I rather agree with Fhotoace. look first at cameras that use the type of memory cards you already have (unless you use smart media, which is obsolete). On the other hand, memory is cheap nowdays, and cards can always be replaced with a different type without robbing a bank. Canon, Nikon, Olympus and perhaps Sony or Fuji all make nice digicams. A good site to do camera research is www.dpreview.com.

Natalia, the flower indicates the camera's "macro" or close up mode, and will be useless if the photographer wants to take wide angle landscapes. So the flower is no prediction of being able to take "professional" images, and like any settings, the camera operator needs to know when it is called for and when not. My suggestion for anyone who owns or is getting a digital camera is to read the owner's manual and keep referring to it until the camera and its functions are learned by heart.
