If you occasionally get little pimple-like sores just on the inside of your nostrils in addition to the flakiness, there's a good chance that you have an infestation of impetigo in your nostrils. A doctor will prescribe a nasal form of bacitracin that will clear it right up.

It might be that you just have dry skin. This happens to me sometimes, more often in the winter when the air can be very dry and cold. I've tried chap stick, but I like a product form Banana Boat called, "faces" better, it seems to be a bit less greasy and oily. Also try using a girly moisturizing face soap, and exfoliate your outer nose well to remove excess dry skin. And the inner nostril thing might be from blowing your nose frquently? Or if you are in a dry, cold climate, it just might happen due to the cold, dry air passing by that skin. Hope this was of some help

It sounds like you have a B vitamin deficiency. Talk to your doctor about this and get the vitamins that you need. Vitamins from food are 50 times better for you than vitamins in pill form. Ask which foods you need to get the vitamins from - no pills for this are truly effective and long lasting. They will work for a while, but as soon as you stop taking them, you'll be right back where you are now.

Try a cream based moisturizer and apply it on your nose in the morning and evening. Ponds has a classic dry skin cream that will really moisturize the dry nose area.

It could be your oils releasing out of your skin. People are prone to having oily spots in certain areas. See a dermatologist if you are worried about it.
