I have been suffering from post partum depression for the past one year when I gave birth to a baby boy. I couldn't stop thinking about how my husband loves him more than me and how things might be better if he wasn't born at all. Thus, I stayed away from him because I knew that I might do something I will regret for the rest of my life.

Almost instantly I went to a therapist and convince them that I need help. Among other things, I've tried herbal supplements and other book to treat depression but nothing works like the Depression Free Method. So now I'm proud to say I'm one of the happiest mother in the world. My husband loves us both very much and I thank the Lord for the blessing he gave us.

Depression Free Method?

Mental health starts with good sleep.
Spiritual health starts with helping others. If al elase fails try an herbal remedy, they work.

Rather than get into temporal issues or amaze people with youtube videos, I thought I'd share a bit of practice. Today is tea making day and I'm brewing up gallons of it. Rather than making six kinds of weak tea for specific uses I do the chinese thing and lump them together in a decoction (strong).
As all the ingredients are natural herbs I don't have to worry about overdosing people...their are however a few common sense caviats. Women who are pregnant or nursing, people with unknown allergies, taking maoi (antidepressants), sedatives or are allergic to sunlight should consult a doctor first....
I donate what I don't use to a domestic violence shelter, a detox clinic and the local methadone clinic. It has manifold uses which include.
Manic-depressive symtoms
opiate withdrawl
insomnia
muscle and nerve pain
crack overdosing, meth too
It doesn't seem to help with alchoholism issues except during the withdrawl period.
I did not invent this stuff, the Romans and Chinese were brewing it 2000 years ago and celling it an "Elixer of youth" I got the recipe while reading Paracelcus and again in a book on chinese herbal medicine. I brewed my first batch and OMG this stuff really worked! Localy it's known as "Davids *** tasting tea" a name well deserved. considering it's uses I thought the title appropriate. here's the deal...
1 gallon spring (Not distilled or tap)water
1/4 cup each cut and sifted herbs
St. Johns wort
Passionflower vine
Vervain
Skulcap
Valerian root
lemonbalm
Bring water to a boil then turn to low simmer 180deg. stir in herbs and hold at 180 for one hour, covered. set aside to cool for eight hours, strain through a fine sieve and refrigerate.
8oz is a dose. 32oz is a treatment so 4/eights a day is about the theraputic limit, your body just won't process anymore. if your in for the long haul (I am) taper down to 8 oz per day don't skip more than two days and then take the missing doses. This tea does nothing but taste bad for about one in ten people...I don't know why but I suspect some form of substance abuse/denial problem that I can't see.
While your brewing, meditate on this...Does my vote count more than the money I spend and where I spend it?

Chronic Depression needs to be treated or it will almost always become worse. It very often is actually a physical condition, and a lack of serotonin produced in the brain. Some pills will activate this natural chemical in the brain, thus easing depression, without feeling drugged. Depression treated early and properly, can almost always be controlled. Left un treated it can get worse. The sooner it is treated--the better. See your doctor, and simply tell him that you have been feeling down. Mine prescribed "Celexa" to me...a pill...which eases up any minor depression symptoms and keeps them away. Taken in the proper dosage, you will not feel drugged or sedated, just more normal and adjusted. Remember that depression is most often NOT a mental illness, but a physical one like diabetes or other diseases, and can be controlled. Good luck!

Well thats a toughie. The thing is, going to a doctor can really, really help. You may not want to have to talk to someone about your problems, but I can tell you that sometimes thats the absolute best thing. Sometimes talking it out can be the most positive and helpful thing in "curing" depression.

Some people have been really helped by antidepressants, some dont feel they help at all. You should feel no pressure to take them if that is not your wish.

I can speak from experience that EXERCISE really helps! Not only does it release endorphins that make you feel fantastic, but it helps improve self esteem.

I know that many people also feel that regular ingestion of St Johns Wort helps them. If you do not like pharmaceuticals, this may help.

Please, at least go talk to someone. It'll make all the difference.

Depression may be caused by negative thoughts, poor circumstances, loss of loved ones, genetic factors, biochemical imbalance in the brain, emptiness in heart, unforgiveness, addictions etc.

There are some natural mood lifting food and vitamins that you can take with your drugs. They are:

-multivitamin
-Vitamin B complex pills
- Vitamin C
- GABA (you can get this at a pharmacy) it is a natural neurotransmitter in your brain.
- SAMe
- Calcium
- Magnesium
-Evening Primrose oil
- Flax oil
- Omega 3

try to have some exercise daily. Go into the sun. Talk with friends. Pray to Jesus, he gives you peace and lifts your mood. These are scientifically proven to work.

- Listen to soothing music on a couch.
- have aromatherapy
- eat healthily, oats, wheats, brown rice, more fish, chicken, lots of vegetables and fruits and other natural food, less oil, no sugar, no deep fried stuff, less red meat
- drink lots of filtered or bottled water
have a pet
- cultivate new hobbies
- do not take alcohol and avoid caffeine
- tackle your problem that is giving you depression. Problem solve with a counselor or friend to reduce the magnitude of the problem.
- Every time you catch yourself thinking negatively, think what is the most positive way of expressing your feelings and thoughts.
- Forgive others, release all bitterness and release all grudges, love God and love others
- Do a kind deed each day. Volunteer your service to the elderly, orphans etc
- I know I have said a lot. Take baby step, one step at a time. Give yourself time to get out of depression.

Think positively.

You may want to see a psychiatrist and counsellor to work out your problem. Psychotherapy may help. Prayer does help. Claim healing from Jesus. He loves you. Read the Bible, start at book of John. Take note of John 3:16, Acts 2:38. It is God's love message to you.

For anxiety, try deep breathing from your diaphragm and progressive muscle relaxation. You can buy books on how to overcome depression and anxiety.

It takes time to lift out of anxiety and depression. First thing is that you desire to get out of them. Next is the tenacity and perseverance to make changes to your life.

I've been through depression and anxiety, so I understand.

God bless you richly and have a blessed Christmas. Attend a United Pentecostal Church nearby your home. (www.upci.org)
There are brothers and sisters who care and be friends with you.

There is no known cure, but there are effective treatments, and it can go into remission, then recur later. See depression treatments, at ezy-build *(below) in section 2, and consult a doctor, to eliminate thyroid problems, etc. as possible contributing factors: also seek a referral to a therapist using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, or Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy. It is your decision, and yours alone, as to whether to take any antidepressants offered, but, before you do, read section 1, and check medications out at www.drugs.com so you will be on the lookout for side effects, like sexual dysfunction. My strong recommendation, however, is to follow the advice of my doctor, his associate, and also Marcelle Pick, OB/GYN NP, and Dr. Mercola, as well, at http://www.mercola.com and avoid antidepressants (pages 2V, and 2Z refer, & antidepressant websites: page 2). The reasons why we all share the same view on this are explained in full, as you will find, if you read the whole section. All of their advice, (except prayer, because many people are not religious) I have incorporated into the "core treatments", including others as options, such as herbal remedies, Inositol, or SAMe. If you are diagnosed with clinical (major) depression, antidepressants may be necessary for a while, which will give the treatments time to become effective. The antidepressants themselves need at least several days, or even many weeks to become effective. It's a good idea to taper off them slowly, with medical advice, after several months, say, to a couple of years, at most, because they are only effective in the long term for about 30% of people. Because of this, you would be well advised to begin the treatments immediately, and maintain them. I'd just thank your mental health care provider, and pocket the prescription, trying the treatments for a few months, to see if they are sufficient for you, before considering filling it (unless clinically depressed, and having great difficulty functioning, or suicidal, in which case I'd take them). If the amount of daylight you have been exposed to recently has reduced, perhaps due to the change of seasons, see Seasonal Affective Disorder (S.A.D.) in section 2, at * http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris and, instead of taking 4 Omega 3 fish oil supplements, daily; replace 2 of them with cod liver oil supplements for the winter months only! (or, as probably a better alternative to the 2 cod liver oil supplements: 1 teaspoonful of cod liver oil, with a little butter, to ensure its use; I take mine on sourdough rye bread, or toast, covered with fishpaste, and pepper, to mask the strong taste). Consider having your doctor test your vitamin D levels.

There is no known cure for depression. However, with the right meds it can be treated. In your case, I am not sure what to tell you. Its all about the chemicals of the brain. Sadly, there is nothing that can balance that without some medical help. GL hun

Clinical depression has to be treated with medication. I consider myself a strong willed person but once had to take anti-depressants because no matter how I tried I could not shake it off. Do your self a favor see your doctor..you will feel better.

if you want a cure for depression, you can just forget about what depressed you and live on with your life. but if the depression does not go away, then you have to fix what depressed you like losing something valuable or someone you admired died or any category, I'd say that is the best cure for depression
