Most of the symbols and activities used during this season were stolen from the Scandinavian and Teutonic peoples by the christians.
The reason for the season is to celebrate the return of the SUN !
And please don't use the age old response " the bible says", to defend your point. The bible is a story book like many others and has never been proven to be divinely inspired by anyone.
But the bottom line is that this "season" is a magical and special time to many religions and peoples and the christians do not own it !

Because myths have meaning and have been a critical component of the "common culture" shared by civilizations for millennia. For thousands of years citizens of each of the world's great societies have shared a common history and a common set of ideas that have served as the stitches that helped to keep order. So it is with Jesus: you may feel his nothing more than a "silly story," but to most people in your society, Jesus is a common bond, a common element in our history, that differentiates our (Western) culture with cultures around the world and throughout history.
So...even if you don't believe...I wish for you the blessings of the season - and I hope that you are able to find another way to commune with your fellow citizens, if the subject of religion is not one on which you are willing to see eye to eye with others.

It is a complete mystery . . . why humans perpetuate the nonsense of Jesus. Nearly everybody knows that the tilt in Earth's spin is the reason for the season. And why did God want to torture some guy on a stick? And how does that get me off the hook? And why was I on the hook in the first place? And worst of all . . . why is it soooo necessary that I believe this twaddle . . . an insult to thousands of years of ascension . . . of consciousness? The explanation is . . . cultural insanity.

yeah the silly Jesus myth that some clown posted a conspiracy movie about.....NONE of the the stuff mentioned in your beloved Zeitgeist is true. The religion part is so bogus its not even funny...A Christ was not born on DEC 25th (neither was Horus for that matter) and Horus was not born of a virgin...i could keep going but ill link a research sight instead...maybe you should research some stupid video before you claim it as true...the problem with our culture is that any form of media is thought to be true. Its a shame....

It's not a hoax.
Just Jesus with the naivity is for little children.
To remind them that they did not drop-off from the coconut trees rolling downhill to the river.
Then float and landed on our shore.
Grew up in time in doing things at own whims and fancy.
For the grown ups.
It's a season in honouring and worshiping God as Thanks giving for the Liberation of Freedom for the good of mankind from after wordl war two.
With the peace on earth goodwill to men in the creation of a new civi;ization in the new century.
Back in those days.
The country was not as it is today.
In those days.
We were still primitive with self lack of knowledge.
At loss and stranded out there.
Luke 9.55-56
Somehow in time.
With the blind.
We blindly follow the blind in kicking the butts of God too.
In time we get kick on the butts for clmibing up the coconut trees and still look green as casualty of the dead Mummyy without being aware of the mess in time.
Luke 9.60
Taking for granted that we were human intelligent.
Without being aware we were still primitive in the 21st century.
That expose how the cave-men were still out there in the real world
That risen up from the grave yards of failures and horrors of the past without being aware of it..
Luke 6.39-40,41-45,46-49
What do you think?
Merry X'mas !

Hardwired beliefs like Santa Claus develop and are a type of beginning of beliefs. General intelligence becomes limited as more complicated myths are presented while humans grow older. Street intelligence finds its way to all forms of the media who fuel the myth. Fear of truth and deaths consequences are enablers of 'hardwiring' for believable answers - coupled with lower emotional and spiritual intelligence.

I am thankful this christmas for people like Acharya S. and Darrell W. Conder that continue to fight the good fight. Working to free the souls and minds of people who truly seek the truth. The christmas story is a thinly veiled hoax and it can be discovered by all who aren't afraid to question a god who is not there.

Of course he is! There is no hoax and you will doubtless find out at some stage.
What we are not told is the date of the birth of Jesus because it is what he achieved that is important. For those who turn to Jesus and are obedient to his Father's will there is a marvellous hope. The LORD God wants men and women to turn to Him but you are given the freewill to be foolish enough to reject Him.

When it comes right down to it, the only reason why you choose not to believe is that you know if you did, you would have to change your life style in some way.
You don’t like the idea of handing over your life to someone else whose going to tell you what you can and can not do.
Bottom line is you want to run your life as you see fit.
Well fine, go ahead and be your own boss; sooner or later you’re going to get sick and tired of constantly getting yourself into one mess after another. When you’ve finally had enough of yourself, Jesus will be there to help you pick up the pieces of your broken shattered life and give you the joyful, peaceful life you could have had all along.
