I like to write. Plain and simple. Problem is, I don't know where and how I can submit my pieces. I'm sixteen years old, and I was wondering how I could start? By submitting things? Joining a club, what?

You should submit your work to magazines that you deem appropriate for your topics and style./

I have been where you are. Find literary magazines and submit your work to them. You can go online and find a list of them in any state and see what their submission guidelines are. Some will pay you and some will not. ALso look for contests to enter.Make sure its not ones that are scams. You can also go to the bookstore or the library and get books on publishing. If you can afford it you can self publish.UPS will do this for you.Or you can just look up publishers and read their submission guidelines and send in your work.ALways make sure though that you have an original copy of whatever you send it so no one can steal it or you can also get your work patented through library of COngress. You will just have to be determined and be ready for many rejections until someone or somehow you get there.Writing business is tough. You can also get an agent and he/she can help you.

You don't say what kind of pieces you write. Poems? Short stories? Non-fiction articles? There are different markets for different kinds of writing. "Writer's Digest" and "The Writer" are two magazines that offer lots of information on the writing business. Your local library might have a copy of the book "Writer's Market." That's another excellent resource.
