Paint the wiring with bitter apple; you should be able to get it at most pet supply stores. They HATE the taste of it, but it won't do them any harm (works for dogs, too, by the way).
Good luck!

I don't know how old she is, but she may very well be teething, and this wiring chewing is potentially deadly for her. Get Bitter Apple and apply it copiously to those wires! It is disgusting tasting, and should stop her. And in God's name, if she is chewing through wiring and you squirt her with water, don't squirt the wiring too, or you may get a feline short circuit.
When my cat, Spike, was a kitten, he teethed on wiring, and I wrote the following ditty for him, to be sung to the tune of "My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean"
My Spikie went up to the outlet
Electrical cords for to chew
His teeth went through the insulation
And Spikie turned red, white and blue.
Bring back! Oh bring back! O bring back my Spikie to me
to me!
You get the picture. My point is that if your mother doesn't kill her, the wiring very well may do it for your mom.
Bitter apple. Works.

Omfg,Dont hit her. Have your mommy fill a spray bottle of water and each time she bites the wire SPRAY HER or keep the wires high on the wall like I do. Take a thumb tack than place the wires on top of it and place the TACK in the wall so your cat cannot reach it. SOLVED.

If your mom doesn't, the wiring will.
I had to deal with the same problem with my pair of kittens. Usually I try not to traumatize them, but with the wiring I would yell and swat them hard so they would understand that chewing wires and cables is a BAD thing. They stopped eventually.
Good luck!

you could ducktape the wires to the wall [like cover the wires w/ ducktape] or buy this tube where you put the wires inside so your cat can't chew on it

Squirt guns work great, but not when it's around wires. lol
Anyways, they sell ''cord protectors'' in the ferret/small animal section of PetSmart, if you have access to that store.

wet a rag with habanero pepper sauce and wipe the cords with it. you don't have to soak the cord, just a quick wipe with the rag will do.
