And, as we get older..............Not pathetic, just different. This is where I really feel at home. Especially when good friends are present, too. I like being in touch with the world and the differences we all share. Especially at holiday time. I love hearing about all the different types of celebrating from different cultures and countries. So, I think we are a family and keep in touch to share as much as possible.

Every time we wrap or recieve a gift for Christmas it is put under the tree, I don't wait to do it... besides, my son is 9 and he knows Saint Nicholas was the one that started the tradition of gift giving the way it is practiced today. He also knows Saint Nick lived long ago and that there are no magical sleighs and flying reindeer, so it works out...
also, there's no room in our tiny home to hide much. Gifts fit best under the tree. Even though we know there is no "Santa Clause" we enjoy the fun that all of us have with the holiday. We also enjoy observing the day as Jesus' birthday, even though the celebration is quite early given that Jesus was born in the spring.
I guess it could be considered pathetic to have nothing better to do than be on Y answers on Christmas Eve... wait.... maybe I DO have better things to do. I think I'll get off the computer now. Maybe I'll make cookies or talk with a friend... there's midnight mass too, maybe I'll go.
God be with you, bless you.. and Merry Christmas to all!!

If Christmas isn't your holiday, it isn't any more pathetic for me to be up this late than on any other night.
Earlier today I took baked goods and presents and delivered them to Christian friends, and I spent a nice long visit with a dear friend who is going through her first Christmas as a widow.
Other than that..this is just another evening and tomorrow is just another day for me.
Merry Christmas to all who celebrate.
Shalom

I'm multi-tasking by playing Zelda, actually. And, as you said, waiting for all to go to sleep before putting the presents under the tree.

Nope. We saw a great movie -- "Charlie Wilson's War." Tomorrow we fly to the Pacific Northwest along with a lot of other people from our congregation.
