Well Greg, thanks for speaking for me, Mel and all of the other Traditional Catholics out there. You have stated some things correct but misrepresented others. We do not consider ourselves holy at all. We do believe as you say "no salvation outside the church". What does that mean in God's terms? I can only guess since He after all makes that choice. Was Moses Catholic, strictly speaking? Or Elijah? How about Adam and Eve? Catholics believe them to be in heaven at this moment. Here is one for you. The Catholic Church claims all of mankind. It also believes in another doctrine, invincible ignorance. I won't explain it again since you are such an expert, you should be able to reference it even though you may not grasp it.
In the future try talking up your case instead of attacking anothers. You are probably more familiar with what you believe than you are about what we hold fast to.

Mel Gibson is not a traditional Catholic by any stretch of the imagination. He essentially has his own church now, and the Vatican does not approve.
And some of the quietest, most humble people I know are traditional Catholics -- cradle Catholics, as a matter of fact, who were born before Vatican II. They don't think non-Catholics are damned, and they certainly don't walk around with their noses in the air, acting holier-than-thou. They live out their faith in practical ways and love God through helping their neighbors.
So no, I really can't say that I agree with any of your points.

I truthfully have been scanning throughout the time of the R&S website for over a year now and have made some observations. while it is composed of specific religions, the posters make statements collectively with "it rather is a cult" or "they're brainwashed". All religions use brainwashing. To set your self aside from different Christians by different denominations provide human beings an risky satisfaction and self-righteousness. i've got seen it time and time returned. those denominations will twist scripture or concentration on specific scriptures whilst ignoring others to healthy their needs. while Jesus rebuked the Pharisees He spoke against such habit. human beings get so caught up in following the letter of the regulation, yet their motivation is all incorrect. He stated "your hearts are some distance from me". human beings can understand scripture and verse yet their hearts lack love. human beings can do solid issues for the incorrect reason and incorrect issues for the main suitable reason. God is attracted on your motivations for the acts which you do no longer whether you have discovered a thank you to "be holier than thou".

I have known a lot of Catholics in my life. I never felt they had a holier than though attitude. Their church believes that all non catholics are going to purgatory, but I don't think their general membership believes that. However, if you get around some evangelical people, they kinda have a holier than though attitude.

Absolutely!
First of all where in the Scriptures does it say that people will die and go to Heaven?
If that were the case then why does Jesus need to come back and retrieve those that are His? Wouldn't they already be in Heaven if they were dead?
When Jesus' friend Lazarus died and Jesus told him to get up and go home, why didn't Lazarus scream and yell at the top of his lungs; "It was wonderful in Heaven, why did you bring me back? or tell everyone how great Heaven was?
But, instead he simply picked up his funeral garb and went home.
When Jesus or the Apostles brought others back to life after they had been dead, why didn't they say how great Heaven was?
They didn't because when we die we go back to whence we came, ashes to ashes and dust to dust. It isn't until the Lord comes back and set up Judgement that people will be raised to either everlasting glory or everlasting shame and not a minute until.
When John wrote the book of Revelation he said he only saw 144 thousand in Heaven -- where is everyone eles???
I'll tell you where those that are found in the book of Life will be in God's Kingdom on the new earth. That is why when Jesus taught us to pray we are to say; ". . . Thy KINGDOM come . . ." The Kingdom of God will be on earth and so will God. I don't know about you, but I want to be where God is!
When the Scriptures speak of the "Great Prostitute" they are refering to none other than the Roman Catholic church. It is a false religion teaching false doctrines and lies. It is not Christian in anyway and belongs to Satan its true founder!
Revelation 17:4-6 The woman wore purple and scarlet clothing and beautiful jewelry made of gold and precious gems and pearls. She held in her hand a gold goblet full of obscenities and the impurities of her immorality. A mysterious name was written on her forehead: "Babylon the Great, Mother of All Prostitutes and Obscenities in the World." I could see that she was drunk – drunk with the blood of God's holy people who were witnesses for Jesus. I stared at her completely amazed. *(How many of God's people did the Roman Catholics murder?)
Revelation 19:1-4
After this, I heard the sound of a vast crowd in heaven shouting, "Hallelujah! Salvation is from our God. Glory and power belong to him alone. His judgments are just and true. He has punished the great prostitute who corrupted the earth with her immorality, and he has avenged the murder of his servants." Again and again their voices rang, "Hallelujah! The smoke from that city ascends forever and forever!" Then the twenty-four elders and the four living beings fell down and worshiped God, who was sitting on the throne. They cried out, "Amen! Hallelujah!"
----
There is NO salvation in the Roman Catholic church and there never will be! God will give them their very deserved punishment!
God Bless You

You're going to go to Hell according to SOMEONE no matter what religion you believe... Even if you are a traditional Catholic there are people who are Muslims and people who follow the religions of Buddhim and Hinduism that will still think you are going to Hell. I think that there are people who act "holier than thou" in every religion... yes I agree that there are more in Catholicism than in many other religions.

I have run in to this less with lay people, but more with Priests and Nuns. I actually had a Catholic Priest tell me, after I told him I held a Pastoral Degree, that if I wasn't Catholic, I was nothing, quote end quote.

That's what all religion is about making yourself feel you're more holy than everyone else, just don't do any real research into ancient belief systems, and find out it's all a bunch of pagan garbage haha.
