hi sis
i understand what you mean, i got a sis friend who grows her hair inch a month her hair grows like crazy , healthy and shiny . the funny thing is that she does nothing to grow it its just in her genes i think. she don't have a regular regimen just W&C " wash and condition.or thats what she says :-)
I dont think that there is a perfect answer to your quistion, because hair growth rate is defferent from person to another based on so many factors like genatics, diet, lifestyle, hair regemin,.......regardless of race but race may determin the hair type so if you are black "like me" propably your hair is ,curly so its dry "even if your scalp is oily" and tends to brake easily so if hair is breaking at the same rate of its growth it will seem like its not growing at all .normally Hair grows at an average rate of about 1/2 inch per month. and if you wanna grow it long it dont matter how much it grows "because it will grow either way"as much as it matters how to protect the exsisting hair .
definitly use the protein treatments to stop the breakage. Also poor nutrition can be the cause. There are several essential nutrients that your body needs to maintain and produce healthy cells. although vitamins are naturally found in healthy diet but food processing make it worthless,Also, the MSM lenghthens your natural anagen phase, which allows your hair to grow much longer. Your anagen phase, or growth phase, is genetically determined and limits the maximum length that your hair can reach. The hair growth phase (anagen phase) is one of three phases (growth, resting, and shedding) your hair goes through during its cycle. For example, a person with a 2 year anagen may only grow hair to their shoulders before it enters the resting phase. On the other hand, a person with a 4 year anagen will grow hair down their back before it enters the resting phase
-supplementary vitamins and minerals + fruit and vegetables extract for hair and nails
- omega3 / or cod liver "fish oil" capsule
- flax seed oil capsule or flax seed oil could be added to food "salad"
- garlic oil capsule "odorless"
- silica & MSM pills
minimize manipulation as possible , the idea of brushing hair to increase blood circulation to the scalp dose not apply to curly hair because it will break instead do scalp massage
if you are in overall good health condition what you need is a full hair care regimen
- to protect a curly hair you should understand that its dry because the natural oils are prevented from moisturizing the hair from the scalp by the curls even when the scalp might be oily , and more then that in every curl there is a weak point with more tendency to break
the solution would keeping it mosturized all the time by not washing hair more than 3 times a months with shampoo and using only conditioner when ever you feel like washing it
when washing do "CWC"condition ,wash ,condition.
dilute the shampoo in water in other bottle before applying it to the hair ,after towel dry apply the leave in conditioner.
It is a good idea to use protein treatments to prevent breakage and rebuild hair structure.hot oil treatments to seal in moisture, wearing you hair in a protective hairstyle where it doesnt rub against your clothes, or even at night on a rough pillow just wear head scarf,
minimizing manipulation to decrease the brakage possiblity ...braids is a good solution if you know how to take care of it..............thats what i do ...........good luck

Hey!
Vitamin K is good to use (hair is a protein after all) and Vitamin E as well. The key is to keep your hair moisturized and conditioned! Try out different products and see what really works best for your hair. In addition don't use heat appliances too often, and if you do make sure you use a heat protectant!
Your hair can and will grow, probably between 1/2 an inch to 1 inch per month, with the right diet, exercise, water intake, and hair care regimen. Remember also to trim your ends every now and then to keep the hair looking healthy!
Trust me, I know how hard it is to have long healthy hair that you can call your own. I am African with medium length relaxed hair. It's a struggle to keep my hair looking good, but if my hair looks good, then I'm good!

Everyone's hair grows about 1/2 inch a month. Yes I guess you could say that there are exceptions to the rules. To get long hair you must have healthy hair. Have a good hair regime where you wash and condition your hair weekly. If you needed supplements, vitamins like biotin and a multivitamin will definitely help. Also oils like Olive, Almond, Jojoba and coconut help tremendously. Also you need to moisturize daily. Our hair soaks up so much moisture that our hair becomes do dry. I found this web forum and these ladies (majority are black if they helps some also have your type of hair) can help you a lot!!! Check it out, just click on whatever topics interest you and the wealth of knowledge that will come from this will amaze you! Take care:)

sumtimes hair will grow an inch each month but usually it only grows about a half inch each month on average...no advice on vitamins i do not use them but i can say try to stay away from products with glycerin and sulfate, because it does damage hair and most products out there use those two ingredients, i only use soft and beautiful oil sheen and coconut oil on my hair and it works very well
