If you have a canker sore, you should not eat hot or spicy foods, which can cause pain. Mild, over-the-counter mouth washes or salt water may help. There are over-the-counter medicines that soothe the painful area. These medicines are applied directly to the sore area of the mouth. If it is severe, the Doctor might prescribe an antibiotic for it.

Salt water - rinse and rinse frequently.

For a faster method - use whiskey - a good, strong whiskey and rinse. Don't drink. Rinse and rinse frequently. If you're not driving - have a shot.

During Hurricane Wilma I got mouth sores from the wrong food and stress - bought a half pint of Southern Comfort - cleared up in a day.

Nobody's mentioned sauerkraut juice? Rinse your mouth with sauerkraut juice, seriously. If you can't stand that, use the juice from a can of green beans. Slosh it around for a while. You can even swallow it when you're done. Do this for a few days.

Get some Campho-Phenic (I think that's how you spell it) at the drug store. It's for blisters and sores inside your mouth. Don't swallow it; put some on the ulcer.

Baking soda applied directly to the offending area. This always helps mine heal quicly and deadens the pain. Keep in mind that this stings to all heck when you first do it.

Is that as in "cold sore"? If it is lysine helps a lot. best to take it when you first feel a tingle, then it usually stops the sore from forming.

Put salt on your finger, then onto the ulcer.
Stings like a *****, but works a treat.

go to a doctor and ask them what it is.
you could either pray for it to leave... or get a medication from someone who knows exactly what it is.
and, remember. it's never really as big as you think it is.
