yeah, good time of the year to buy one. dealers want to get rid of the 2007' s for the 2008's. there is nothing wrong with one that's a year or two old with low miles.there's not very many new ones at that price especially if you want automatic.

Any dealer can sell you a "basic" car for about $12,000. Right now even lower. They have to move the 2007's to make room for the 2008 models.
Don't be expecting a radio, CD player, alloy wheels, air conditioning, automatic transmission, radial tires, etc.
You can get a V4, manual transmission, heater, no A/C, no carpet, no tinted windows, 14 or 13 inch wheels black steel. Talk to the sales person. Tell him your situation. If the sales person begins the ole routine "I'm moving these like pancakes so need to get it in your hands today". Move on. Go to another dealer.
When the sales person says "Here it is. Take it or leave it." That's the person to buy from.

If you are looking at low wages then a new car is the last thing you need. You need to save and buy a car with cash. Find a good used car that'll cost you less than $5000.

New car? Probably not. I drive $500 beaters. For 12 grand scale down and buy something used in your price range, For that amount of bread, you can buy a fine vehicle but before you do have an independent mechanic check it out. You'll be glad you did!

Why not a used car...let someone else take that hit! I did and learned my lesson. I will never have a car payment again. You only need to get from point A to point B right?!?
