....leave well alone, if there is nothing seriously wrong?

my visual acuity doesnt seem quite what it was, and at night..lights seem a bit more blurred, but apart from that...everything is ok.

do i just have to accept a slight deterioration with time, or is there something i should be doing, that might restore perfect vision?

i have never used anything for my eyes, believing that anything i use as a crutch will only weaken my sight, but should i really be using something for instance when my eyes feel really dry?

1st: prevent harm/damage to your eyes (don't look at the sun and avoid looking at bright lights (especially headlights) as much as possible.
Maintain a healthy diet.
Avoid alcohol/tobacco.
Most people will need glasses sooner or later; good eye drops can help maintain proper eye moisture if used appropriately (as needed, not by a clock or calendary). PreserVision has been clinically proven to help maintain eye health.

Everyone should have regular eye checks at an optician, more so as they get older and even if they think their eyes are healthy. Many diseases are detected in this way, even before they show symptoms e.g. high blood pressure, diabetes and glaucoma. It is natural for near visual acuity to deteriorate, especially after the age of 40, and the majority of adults may need reading glasses to correct this. However, you are saying your vision is blurred at night, specifically when looking at lights. When you say blurred, do you mean you see a kind of a halo around lights? If so this may be an indication that pressure inside your eye is higher than normal and you really need to visit an optician for an eye check. Make that your New Year resolution! Good luck

You better check your eyes with an ophthalmologist...
Sometimes with age your crystalline lens gets less transparent and may develop a cataract: this can be fixed by surgery. Some people develop retinal problems, which are more serious and need to be controlled by medicine. Or may be you just need new prescription glasses.
All of these could be related to the symptoms you have, so it is important to get professional diagnostic.

There isn't anything particular to do. See an ophthalmologist if you haven't done so recently, and see if spectacles would help. The blurriness suggests cataracts, which can be removed by replacing the lens if they get bad enough to be annoying.
