Why is it so easy to call upon the argument that God let's bad things happen but so hard to remember that the entire reason that bad things and suffering are happening on earth is because of ourselves? Humans ate the apple and brought pain and suffering into the world. So why is it so hard to believe that God would say, you did it, now you deal with it. Put your own hand on a hot stove, would you then curse God for letting it burn and hurt? Take responsibility as being a human who has the responsibility of taking care of each other because we did this to ourselves and free will keeps us doing horrible things to each other. But no, blame God instead, cause that is really going to help starving Africans (or how about the starving homeless in the town where you are sitting now, go give them a nice dinner, then you might have a self-righteous leg to stand on).

We have not created our new "Love" religion. As you already know, the Bible states that God is Love.
Ever since Adam and Eve, sin has ravaged this world. Death and suffering are basically givens in this world because of sin. Even Jesus said that life would be difficult.
God loves the Africans who are starving. I don't think you noticed the many people the Lord is working through to help them.
Please extend a hand to help them as well, if you care about them as well.

This is not easy to answer in just a few words. I will try. You need to take the long view when trying to understand the answer to that question. Adam and Eve were banished from Eden because of their disobedience; and God said that man would suffer as a result of it. (Read Genesis.) But God also said that eventually a savior would restore all things at the appointed time. Until the restoration, it was necessary for a process to unfold, part of which is the degeneration of all things on earth, resulting from man's refusal to obey God.
It is like this: You were told not to play with fire. You played with fire. You got horribly burned. Who is to blame?
The wars and famines and diseases suffered by mankind were ALL foretold in the Bible, as was the final restoration of all things.

Yes He does... however He also gave us all free will... which begs the question: "Exactly what have *you* done to alleviate the problems of the "starving" Africans.

OMG, i asked the same question and they deleted me!!! Thanks for asking it. You are so right, that's y i'm not christian anymore, and my husband has some doubts of his existence when i showed him some utube videos of starving children. I'm a med student, and i had to watch a surgery where they removed dozens of worms (ascaris lumbricoides), that was so nasty, and i told myself, If I were God, everybody would be healthy and at least with a dialy food. If the being god were a job, I would fire the currrent God bcz he aint doing his job very well, he is on permanent vacations on the industrialized countries, and dont even look to the poor ones. Good question. have a nice day

God isn't letting them starve. We are.
Don't say you don't have the time or money. You're on Yahoo Answers, and you obviously have acess to a computer.
Stop pretending like you are an intelligent atheist/agnostic- what you are is faithless. If you want people to stop starving, donate to a charity.
There's one in the link.

God is not love....God is God
he loves you but if you die from sin you caused it. He made the way to heaven free after you ruin your life.....or you can deny him and ruin your eternity too
