I liked this guy for ages and i had a feeling he liked me back but we never talked (gave lots of signs though). After 2 weeks vacation, one of his best friends (a girl) who's kinda friends with me told me he said he liked her (she didnt know about me liking him) and i was so shocked, but she didnt like him back in that way and told him so. Then i told one of his friends i liked him and he went and told him (without me knowing). Then the guy i like started talking to me a lot online then confessed that he liked me! I asked him about the other girl he liked and he said that had passed, he liked me. I think he only liked her because he thought he couldnt have me and that she was always acting as if she fancied him.
Anyway he has been spending a lot of time with me and is really sweet and talked about us going out etc so should i believe that he does really like me?
And could i be right in him only liking the other girl because he thought he couldnt have me and cause she flirted with him?

He probably did really like her but I think he really likes you too! Why wouldn't you believe him? Don't think too much. If he says liking that other has passed, then take his words and go out with him.

if he says he likes you, then take it as that. he has given you no reason why he doesn't. and since you like him, then go for it.
as for the second question, let's not jump into a conclusion as to put yourself as being the center of his world where whatever he does was somehow influenced by you. but you can ask him. and anyways, it doesn't matter either way what happened between him and her. so why should you care?
and if he chose her because he thought he couldn't have you and she flirted with him, you should be very worried. this means that if you guys have a bad fight, he would be more lenient to "fall for" any girl that offers him a shoulder to cry on. and it also means he didn't have the balls to confess his feelings for you to begin with if he chooses the easiest girl.

I can't tell you what to believe and what not be believe love, but you've got the answer right there in your heart, mind and body. What are they telling you? is your heart in agreement with a future with this guy? then tell you what, follow it, but you've got be be wise, study him and find out all you need to find about him from him personally, no secret services or private detectives.
