Yes having been a therapist for many years and worked with numerous people who are gay or bisexual I would say that it is predetermined. Most gays or lesbians I know were aware at a relatively early age that they were different. And by the way, if you will look at skeletons of animals, or animal DNA you will find very quickly that we are animals. It is only a convenient fantasy that we pretend otherwise. And yes, it is my belief that God is a part of all things he creates. All are in God, all are a part of God. And everything we see and don't see is God. So yes, God is gay, as well as all the other things God has a part off. God is male, God is female, she is dark and she is light, she is every thing. merry Christmas everyone!

Greetings! First of all, I do not believe in predestination in any shape, way or form. If predestination is fact, there would be no free will for anyone and if predestination was a reality, then people like Charles Manson and John Wayne Gacy could have been pre ordained to ascent into Heaven so they didn't have to change their ways a bit. On the flip side, Mother Teresa and Gandhi could be burning in Hell because they weren't preselected.
For sexual orientation, there are all kinds of reasons why people become what they are. Sexual orientation is the exact same direction as someone who likes one food over another. There really is no rhyme or reason for someone's selection of sexual orientation, period.
Therefore, sexual orientation between two consenting adults should not be questioned by any person.
The only line that is to be drawn is that whatever orientation, it must be consensual in both physical, mental and spiritual for both or all parties. If it is not consensual, or the consent is coerced, then it no longer is sexual. It is assault, which should be punished quickly.
Hope this helps. Happy Holidays!

Try choosing not to breathe. Choice and biologic drive are often in conflict.
Further, matters of preference are not matters of choice. People do not choose to like carrots, but not broccoli. Experience affects preference.
The word predestined implies a fixed outcome. Life experience, especially at an early age shapes the result. There is no evidence that the experiences that shape preference are predetermined.

I'm not sure that "predetermined" is the word I would choose, but I don't think orientation is a choice. Predetermined sounds like an intelligent being specifically and individually decided "you're gay" and "your're straight," and I don't believe in micromanaging divine beings. We are all wired to have different things appeal to us. It's part of the random diveristy of the species. I like men over women (I'm a woman) just as I like older brunettes to younger blondes. Its not a choice. It's just how I am.
I'm a theist.

I don't know, and it doesn't matter what I may believe. If there's a reason why most animals are hetero and a minority are not, then the reason can be found. Until then, nobody who isn't an expert in neurobiology (or a related field) should presume to opine on the question.
And anyway, why does it matter? It's not as if it's threatening the survival of the species, after all.

It is rumored that the being known as God is "bi-gendered" meaning of both sexes. Most religions think this is blasphemy and puts god as only being "male".
It is said that God does not make mistakes, that God created Gay people for a purpose.

I do belive sexual orientation can be predetermined but it can also be gained from life experience as well. Being gay or lesbian is a sin against god, but all have sinned and "fall short of the glory of God." We must ask God to fogive our sin and ask him to be the Lord of our lives.

It doesn't matter whether a person is born homosexual or chooses to be homosexual.. Freedom is what matters.
There are alot of people in this world who want to take away your freedom. Don't let them. Be your own person. Make your own religion. Go your own way!
It is scary and lonely to be free... But it is the best thing in the world to have freedom. Yet, the more people embrace free living, the more we have in common.
Freedom is paramount.. everything else comes from it.

If only god were real, then he could speak up for himself and bring a close to this argument. To answer the actual question, I believe that if people can be born heterosexual then they can be born homosexual. IF being gay/lesbian is a choice then so is being heterosexual.
