is it possible to be afraid of what you want most?

ts a funny thing really...
i had so much hope put into you
i wished and crossed my fingers
it was useless, now that i look back
we closed our eyes and consumed
yet i think i knew all along it wouldnt be true
i thought you might care enough though
to spare me
you tore away my heart
blood and all
you didnt know you were a monster
but you chewed me up and spat me out
broken
i mended in time
but i can never be the same
i know now that it is possible to fear what you want to the most
its hard for me to get close to anyone anymore
... i think im afriad ill be broken agian
does that make me afriad of love?

We should fear what we want the most.

Wanting leads us away from needs and into the area of greed's.

Wanting is a one way street to disappointment.

It focuses on personal desires and forgets others needs.

It is better to give and let the rest take care of its self.

When you give without regard to return you will find that the returns are plentiful.

While doing your good deeds look around. Take note of the people that are behaving like you, without greed. These are the people that you want to hook up with. Givers not takers.

I think that u aren't so much afraid of love as just getting hurt again...you want a relationship you are jsut worried that it will turn out in a disaster. You are afraid that getting close to someone will cause you more pain and heartbreak when they leave you. If they leave...yes...it will always hurt to lose someone that you care for dearly...but you have to keep moving. Life isn't going to stop happening...and everyday new people walk by your house and are out there for you to meet. You just have to put yourself out there...and convince yourself that what happened is in the past...but better things await in the future. They always do. So keep smiling....and laughing....and most of all....stay happy. you never know who may be walking by thinking about how great it would be to get to know you.

That was nice and its true.
Part of me wanted him to leave his girlfriend and be with me but then when he hinted that it may be happening I got really scared because then I realised that he will be with me full time forever (if it worked out) and I would be the result of a broken home and some other woman being brokenhearted. I wanted him but was too scared to really have him.

Wow! your a good poet. alot of people our afriad of the things that they love but always remember their is always a little good in everyone and everything. so it is not always bad to be afriad . but it is not good to be afriad of being afriad .

kinda. but everone is! i mean once you get hurt you NEVER want to feel that again. thats the problem though. you have to understand that getting hurt is a part of life, you can't avoid it. you have to take risks, i mean yes you could get hurt, but if you don't take the risk, than you will never meet someone you truly love.
which, in my oppinion, is worse than getting hurt.

wow nice poem....from that it shows me your scared of getting hurt and will find it hard to love.... but you have to understand that the person who broke your heart ia an individual and one day you are going to meet that some one special no matter how cheesy that sounds... to abolish your fear you have to confront it.... lifes short... you have to take chances... dont give up :)

thats the thing about love....nobody can promise you they wont hurt you, so you just gotta remember they're not all the same, and life is about risks so take them!!! feel better, and your poem was great :)
