Cara L-------Nothing could be further from the truth, you are forgetting many texts explaining the rules within each covenent G-d has established with man. Such as the covenent he gave Noah and his children after him as an everlasting covenent and the covenent given to Abraham which he established as an everlasting covenent as well.

Anyone here that is not jewish can eat anything they so desire and should not call it a sin, because the one who established that order is G-d, who expressed it to Noah and to his children after him as it is written in Genesis 9: 1-8, and anyone who isn't a jew is a descendent of Noah but that's only if they are aware of their identity with Noah because if you are not aware you will not have the ability to follow the rules within that covenent and if you do not follow the rules you are breaking them thus forfeiting your identity with him.

The laws regarding clean and unclean are exclusively directed to the children of Israel and a non-jew to say that it is wrong to eat pork goes contrary to the teachings of our rabbis and also goes contrary to the apostles teaching but more important then man's interpratation is G-d's sayings and he told Noah that I have given you every thing you so desire for food of every herb, tree, bird, fish of the sea, animal and insect. If you don't beleive me you will not beleive him for I have written what he has said, how can you contridict?

Jesus never ate pork because he was Jewish. I follow the example of the Jews in this example as to not eat pork as I am Christian. Yes it is listed in the bible not to do so, but did you know it is also listed that you cant eat bugs with 8 legs but you can eat bugs with 4 legs? Who knew. As for any other christian that does, thats their personal choice.

It's a pitty to see so much disunity within a simple interpretation of the law of G-d, it is no wonder prophet Zechariah prophesized saying: Yes, many peoples and strong nations shall come to seek the L-rd of hosts in Jerusalem, and pray before the L-rd.

Thus says the L-rd of hosts: 'In those days 10 men from every language of the nations shall grasp the sleeve of a jewish man, saying, "Let us go with you, for we have heard that G-d is with you".

This prophecy that hasn't happened yet, which I just quoted can be found in Zechariah 8: 22,23

Moshiach now--- has given us some very good and biblicly factual interpretations which can be backed up by the apostles as well, and still you don't see the error of the answer you all are agreeing with, it's a shame seeing all of these misleading answers.

The Bible your manual for a healthy body Pt.V Are your foods making you Sick?

God is a good God and has provided everything we need to sustain our health. He instructed us on the best foods to consume and He told us the things that would not be best for human consumption. Does He know what He is doing? Of course He does. He is the creator and everything He made He declared in Genesis 1:31 to be very good. Everything created has a purpose.

In Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14:3-20 God gave detailed instructions on meats, poultry, fish and other sea foods that are good for food and those that are not. The instructions given allowed the eating of beef, lamb, fish and some birds, but eliminated swine (pig meat), meat eating carnivores, some birds and shell fish which includes conch, crab, lobster, crawfish and shrimp. Scientists have found that most of these are high in cholesterol and so contributes to heart disease and stroke. Most of the animals forbidden for food are scavengers. God created them to clean the filth of the earth and the sea. Isn't God great! He even provided for the maintenance and protection of our environment.

We may not be able to explain or understand why some animals are declared unclean (unfit for food Leviticus 11:7) , while others are declared good for food (Leviticus 11:2), but we can trust the creator to know the difference. In His great love for us He has revealed it for our good.

Is it any surprise to us that Satan has created an appetite for the very foods God forbade? They are the most delicious and exquisite dishes. Should it be a surprise that epidemic disease has followed the violation of God's dietary principles? The pig or pork is a perfect example of how appetite has over ruled God's sensible restrictions. There is abundant scientific evidence that show why pork is totally unfit for food. Pork contains a microscopic worm called trichina. When it gets into the system trichinosis results. Governments warn that there is no inspection for the parasite, and a Reader's Digest article stresses that there is no cure for the disease. Trichinosis can condemn its victim to a life time of aches and pains and can even cause death. The pain in your arm or leg may be arthritis or rheumatism or it may be trichinosis.

Dr. Samuel C. Gould a Washington health official who has done extensive studies of trichinosis, states that the average American consumer eats at least 200 infested pork meals during his lifetime. Just because the meat has been past by government inspectors does not mean it had been tested for trichina infestation.

God wants us to be healthy and happy, not suffering from pains, aches and diseases. There is a wonderful promise to all of us in Exodus 15:26. Read it, claim it and allow the peace, love and blessings of God to sustain you

“Did you ever read this chapter, along with the parallel account in Matthew 15? Jesus was exposing the error of being scrupulous in terms of outward, ritual purity (specifically, practicing ritual handwashing before eating) while having filthy hearts and minds. As he explained: “What goes into a man’s mouth does not make him ‘unclean,’ but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him ‘unclean.’” (Matt. 15:11) It is the thoughts of the heart that defile someone, not whether or not they follow the Rabbinic traditions and wash their hands before they eat. In principle, then, this makes all foods “clean”—in other words, no food can make you spiritually impure, which is the point of Mark 7:19. But there is no evidence that the disciples of Jesus heard these words and threw out the dietary laws. Rather, they grasped the meaning of Jesus’ words and continued to live as Torah-observant Jews. However, because they understood the spiritual principles the Messiah was teaching, they would be willing to be in an environment where they ate nonkosher food in order to teach Gentiles about the one true God. Doesn’t this seem right to you? Over time, they also realized another spiritual principle based on Yeshua’s words, namely, “If God pronounces someone ‘clean’—in this case, meaning, if he accepts the Gentiles as his own people through faith in the Messiah—then we have no right to call them ‘unclean’—meaning, rejecting them as fellow-heirs of our heavenly Father and as spiritual brothers and sisters.” Having said all this, I’m fully aware that many Christian scholars would argue that Jesus did, in fact, change the dietary laws, but even if this were the case, there are Rabbinic traditions stating that in the world to come (and/or the Messianic era), some of the dietary laws will be changed.” (See Answering Jewish Objections to Jesus, vol. 4, pp. 269-273)

With the coming of the Messiah (Christ) the ceremonial and ritualistic part of the law has been done away with. The moral law has been reinstated in the New Testament. IF you want to try and live by the Old Testament law have at it; but I will tell you right now you will not be able to do it. Rather then spending your time trying to keep the Old Testament law (or trying to start a controversy over it) why do not you read the New Testament and see what it says about grace. IT also has the answer to your question that in several spots. God even told Peter to eat things that were not allowed in the Old Testament. Look in Acts 10 for starters.

of course all words written by men for the contol of people at that time. so pork is unclean, yet beef is ok, what about lamb, the lamb of God who is sacred. Timothy chapter 4 verse 4 and 5

4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:

5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

Heed these words and see verse 7

7 But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.

The bible can be contadictory in as much as so many people wrote for it, they all had different opinions, whose opinion is true then ? and whose is not to be believed? to all pork eaters, eat what is put before you as God has giveneth it to thee and blessed it as the substenance of the earth. Have your fill and pray for the blessing of the almighty, maker of ALL things.

God, because of His Divine Providence, forbid the Jews from eating unclean animals (including pork) - probably because of the danger of trichinosis. But that was during and after the time of Moses. The events of Noah anh gis ark occured long before Moses.

However, even by the time of Christ, mankind had advanced enough to understand proper food handling and cooking that trichinosis was no longer the threat it was 1,500 years previous.

In Acts, the early Apostles argued about whether pork would be acceptable to eat and, as you can read, it is.

Also, your question reminds me of one of my favorite Simpson's quotes:
Homer: Wait a minute wait a minute wait a minute. Lisa honey, are you
saying you're *never* going to eat any animal again? What about
bacon?
Lisa: No.
Homer: Ham?
Lisa: No.
Homer: Pork chops?
Lisa: Dad! Those all come from the same animal!
Homer: [Chuckles] Yeah, right Lisa. A wonderful, magical animal.

The pig & all unclean animal mentioned in Leviticus are scavengers. It isn't healthy for us. God knows best bc He created the animals and knows what is good or bad for us to eat. There are also many doctors that agree that pork, shellfish etc... aren't healthy at all. Search it out.

What about in Acts chapter 10 with with the vision of the cleansed animals previously considered unclean?

I don't believe that this is relevant...but here is a biblical source that contradicts kosher food law for Christians.
