It is true is written in the Bible, but simply no one follow that;-)
Christians are very much judgemental towards other religions, but they forget that simply they can`t do what they believe in ( or that they say they believe in )
P.N. - A few Christians do follow that, and don`t eat pork at all;-)
Is true that Christians eat pork but is totally wrong, and so when they die, they will have to explain that to Christ and God.
Because is something that was demanded by God and so was sacredly written... But with the times, people or certain religious groups call themselves Christians but they don`t do things as should be done, that is why they think is good to eat pork because mostly everyone does that, but is not that is correct. But come on, how many Christians nowadays do get to read the Bible? Only a few, and if they read they don`t care much about what was first written, they prefer to believe in what was recently written, so they can continue eat pork happily;-P

It does say this in... hang on... Leviticus 11 v 1-47. It says "animals you eat must chew the cud, but not have divided hoofs. Do not eat pigs... do not eat these animals or even touch their dead bodies, they are unclean" and a lot more but it's a long chapter. Some christians, jews and muslims still obey this, but later on in the bible (I'm afraid I can't find it) says that all the animals that God created are clean. I don't know, it's so hard to tell though what God said and what someone else wrote.

In Chapter 12, Verse 24 of the Revised Modern Christian Bible, written by Mashumi Mitsui before he was martyred at the oven of Mt. Bakalsa, by the lost wandering tribes of Nomads, there was a mention of pork causing a multitude of health problems. But there was no specific prohibition.
It was also stated in passing that freezing does not affect the parasites embeddeded in pork meat.

The old dietary laws would be in Dueteronomy, I believe...
Some Christians think we ought to keep to those laws, others think that Jesus did away with the old law...and then they tend to quibble about which "old laws" He "nailed to the cross" and which are still binding. If you ask me, all the arguing amongst Christians as to what they may or may not eat, or what day they ought to go to church, is one of the WORST sins we can commit, since it causes dissension, and tends to drive people away from Christ.
I think the truth is somewhere in the middle. As a young girl, I had a bad experience with pork...I nearly died from trichinosis...later I was told that it is caused by a work that lives in the meat, but that if the pork is cooked properly, it is "safe". Somehow, the notion of eating a cooked worm rather than a raw one just never did appeal to me, so I tend to avoid pork and pork products, even though I know that, for Christians, it is what comes out of our mouths that defiles us, not what we eat. It still seems like a pretty good idea to me not to eat meat from animals that are carrion eaters....

What "Digital Age" said is also not in the bible, it is just something they made up as a cop-out to having to follow GOD's law, which even Jesus commanded his followers to do.
There is a line in the new testament that says that GOD made all things clean and that to say that something is unclean to eat is improper. I don't remember exactly where or what, but give me a minute and I'll find out! ;D
Edit:
Acts 10:11-16 "And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending upon him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth: Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air. And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common. "
Here, GOD is giving Peter the O.K. to eat anything, or so I am told. I personally think its rot and you should just follow the Law.

Rev 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that deflies (you eat pork, you become defiled), neither [whatsoever] worketh abomination (eating pork is considered an abomination in the Holy Scriprures), or [maketh] a lie (all of the people who tell you it's ok to eat your dose of death): but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.
The Unclean Beast
Called.......
The Pig!
The word unclean comes from the Hebrew word tame
(taw-may). This word is listed as word #2930 of the Hebrew
Dictionary of Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance and
means foul in a religious sense; defiled, infamous, polluted,
pollution, unclean.
Since hog meat (pork) is people’s #1 choice meat dish
of all the unclean beasts (I don’t know why they slight
rats, skunks, dogs and cats, which are in the same class),
let us consider the diet of this palate tickler.
It is said that swine in the state of Iowa are principally
fed on corn, but will eat anything given to them.
If anything dies it is thrown to these hogs. Hogs actually
chew at the cancers of other hogs, and these hogs
are shipped to market along with the hogs having the
cancer! Many times cattle are infected from the incurable
diseases of the hog called the mad itch. It is transmitted
by the hog’s saliva left on corn which cattle eat.
The itching in the cattle becomes so intense they will
run from stump to stump until they rub their skin from
their mouths and soon die. When the saliva from the
hog’s mouth will poison cattle in this way, how can hogs
be fit for man to eat?
It is customary for hog feeders to try to find the cheapest
feed possible to fatten out pork for market, such as
scrap barrels from restaurants, gooey, oozing, bloody,
stinking, rotten, and dead chick eggs from hatcheries,
guts from slaughter houses and so on.
What a hog eats is on its bones in four hours and
ready for consumption by you? What a clean animal eats
takes at least 12 hours to be utilized in its system and
the energy that is utilized has the poisons and impurities
filtered out of its system.
If swine are raised in a feed lot with other animals
such as horses, cattle, etc., the swine will eat and drink
the very refuse of these animals! This is a common occurrence on small farms where the animals are not separated.
The hog is unclean. Swine actually have running sores
under their hooves. Prove this to yourself. Visit a farm
where swine are raised, lift up the front hoof of a hog,
and apply a little pressure to the hog’s toes. You will
find greenish matter oozing out from between the toes.
This is one small outlet for the various heinous, filthy
poisons which that pig has taken into its body.
Quite frequently this oozing artery becomes stopped
up and the poison backs up into the hog’s system. When
this befalls, the pig will have very sore feet to the point
it can barely walk. Greenish growths are then formed on
various parts of its body. At this point the feed lot operator
takes this pig to market for slaughter before this
pig dies on him. This is far more common than many
may ever believe.

Gavin T above gave the verses.
Most Christians point to Acts Chapter 10 when they say it's now okay to eat swine. However, Acts Chapter 10 is about people, not food. The food law are valid for Christians.
Here's what Christ said about the law:
Matthew Chapter 5:17-18
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Luke Chapter 16:17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

The TRUTH is that Jesus said, "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfil them." But St. Paul, trying to spread Christianity in pagan Europe, had to make many, many compromises, one of which was to allow pork. The two other major compromises were to do away with circumcision and make pagan holidays Christian holidays.

I know Jews and Muslims don't eat pork, but don't know any Bible laws about Christians eating it. Except pigs are intelligent animals that deserve a lot better than they get.
