Well, we could...he'd probably just take it as an insult though. Besides, the idea of an atheist mafia is just a refutation of his assumption that there was such a thing before he mentioned it...it is basically a title steeped in irony that would just rub him the wrong way if it were brought directly to his attention....

I don't think they would want to be thanked. I mean after all, wouldn't it just remind him of the failure of some how making it a bad use for atheists?
