Let's say there was no religion. Would we fight for other causes? What would they be?

Human Beings are inherently evil, and so everything we do is motivated by selfishness. So as long as mankind exists, there will always be murder, war, death, and sin. We will always try to get things but will never be satisfied, and so war and greed will continue. You asked what would we fight for, but the real question is what are we fighting for.

Yes. Most of the recent wars have been fought for other than religious reasons: the two World Wars, Korea, and Viet Nam. Which is not at all to say that religion has not played a part in warfare; consider Kashmir, Palestine, the former Yugoslavia, and of course Iraq.

Most of the so-called religious wars of the Middle ages were really political...didn't you know?
People have been fighting others from creation for any little thing; the most foolish way I have heard about was the " War of Jenkin's ear",,,when England and Spain fought a bloody war over a man's ear.

oh yes my freind... War has always been for either land, money or women... If there was no religion u woudnt be typing my dude everybeing has to believe those who disbelieve that there is no God. they are not guided properly by God..... And God gives guidence to those who dont follow the path of satan and if they do .. God assigns a satan to misguide them all the time they want to do good things and probably these people do more sins and can never enter heaven and hell is their place to live for eternity....
